Got it today, anyone else get it? if so, what are your thoughts, also how far are you into the career etc.

I played for something like 4-5 hours solid and am alreayd ranked 68th, which is a shame because it's too easy, most I have is 5 bronze stars on one stat and I beat people who have atleast 80% gold stars, I beat them 3-0 both sets and it doesn't make sense.

So anyway, good game if you are "basic" but if you like net-play and risk shots it's solid, the training is both hard and annoying, they make you aim places where you need alot of training to do it so you fail.

Doubles are pish, I done a mix doubles game and gave up after 3 games, my partner keeps leaving the most ridiculous shots I have no chance at all to reach.

So anyway, what is your story so far and has anyone tried it online? is it laggy like FNR3?

Got it. Only played 10 minutes on it though, had a go at exhibition, I went Federer, played the worst woman, on easy, first to 3 games. I lost 3-0 :$. Got any tips - im kinda sucking at it...do you go for the risk shots with the Right Trigger or do you just stick to the basic A,B,X & Y? Im never sure what to do because those risk one's are hard to pull off!

I only ever do the green one (Still don't know what x and y are etc :().

I just stay at the baseline and use green, risk shots are far too "random" with poor stats, maybe with better focus etc it will be better but for every 5 risk shots you will be lucky to score 1.

Just stick with the basic shot, you never miss and it's a good way to learn, no use playing the game and unleashing risk shot after risk shot :)

It's a very easy game to learn, I went Federer too and played some created guy, lost the first 2 games but won the rest easily, you need to think where they might put the ball so you can position yourself nicely, that's what I do.

You will, it's one of these games were you get raped at first and 1 hour later do the raping :)

Beware of the loading in the career mode, it kinda takes the piss, well not the loading it's the autosaving, you will see :)

Not tried it yet, but the training is getting extremely annoying, they want you to hit stuff that doesn't even budge with my power, they want me to hit stuff in a corner I can't reach with my precision, they basically want me to do stuff I can't do for ages, I just don't have the stars.

I am ranked 38th and my stats are poor, I have played someone ranked 200th with pretty much 80% gold on everything and I beat him 3-0 both sets losing ONE point.

It's either dead easy or brutal, returning their serve is hard because it knocks you well out of position and since they have almost full gold stars on power and precision they do a shot that is 1 cm away from going out at the other side, so unless you have a nitro up your arse you ain't getting it.

It's not a well thought out game in my eyes, I want a game where it's easy at the start, I can build up my stars easily and then play in the major, this game is the opposite, it will be impossible filling up one single stat5 with all golds because at just level 2 the training is hard, and level 3 is just impossible with the stats you have at this stage.

The sponsors are ridiculous too, win every grand slam in one season, win a grand slam without losing a set, it's pretty much useless having sponsors at the start because for the first 3-4 seasons you won't get many of their targets.

Good gameplay, very poorly executed career mode.

Yeah i think ill be getting this soon read the review on monster and it seems like its keping close tabs on the original which was great! But i wonder if they still kept that map for the career mode coz tht was funny as like! So should i defo buy it then? i mean just for some gamerscore coz thornbag is ahead now cheating scum! Not sure yet...you have to play with you're career mode feller if you're doing a ranked match, so waiting till my dude get's at least half decent till I even attempt it or i'll get battered. :D

I got my copy yesterday and its a pretty decent tennis game. Its almost as addictive as virtua tennis and the graphics on my HDTV look amazing. I need a buddy to help me get the online achievements sometime if anyone is up for it.

Yeah, I don't like tennis really but everytime I play a tennis game I play it non-stop, they always have this addictive thing about them..

I've been renting it, and I sadly suck at this game. :(

I may keep it though since I still have a lot to do, and it's 30 bucks which is a great price since this is a next gen game.....

little tip forthe 25 wins and 50 ranked matchs onlince, if you go on with a buddy and do em you just have to forfit the match each time and it will still count as a match/win for you and other guy, so it would take a lot less time

30 bucks is like £20 so I doubt he is, not sure how he got it for 30 bucks though, maybe got a discount.

The game is normal, aka £50 from those hmv *******s or £40 from play :)

Hmmm i think ill trade Fight night in( only got 250 GS left) and NFS coz i know i wont play fight night after completion. But then at the end of the week if i had to trade in burnout and Top Spin to get BF2 tht would leave me with only 3 games Elder Scrolls GRAW and BF2 which would be grim! But unless i would just be able to trade either burnout or top spin and not both together that would be fine with me What dya think?

I just played 2 games online and it's a very hard game, they always to the most pin-point shots right in the corner, you need to work very hard to get it and they just do the exact same shot to the other side, you are nowhere near the ball.

It spoils the game really, I only played 2 games and already knew I was never going to play more, as I said it's impossible to win when they do the most amazing shots.

Good online play if you like it though, I hosted so had no lag but as I said, impossible to win.

Better spent on FM imo, mate. It is a good game from what i've played, but not worth £50. I traded in PGR so it only cost me £20...would wait for FM if I was you though.

I only payed 20 after trading in PGR so that wasn't so bad I suppose. It was only 45 anyway...but to be fair, it will last quite a while. Not 1 you can do overnight, like most EA games. :cool:

Pesonally it's well worth the £50.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it, gameplay is cracking there, the risk system is difficult but effective, the focus shots allow varied gameplay. The Career is brilliant, true it is fairly easy to beat players much higher ranked, but they evolve as you do through the seasons, playing a high seeded player in the first season seemed a lot easier than in the 2nd... The Sponsor system is pretty redundant for the first season or two, but can be worked through later once your character is built up.

Similarly with the training, a great fustration to me, but then changing coaches is worthwhile for diffent challenges...

All in all, graphically and playability will keep me amused for a long time - and I've not even tried it on live yet!

I like Tennis games there lots of fun when you've got nothing else to do. The best tennis game I've played is something called Smash Court Pro tennis tournament 2 on the PS2 or something like that can't remember exactly what its called.

i bought it a couple of days ago and must admit off first impressions thought it sucked but after persevering with it i actually got hooked and before i knew it i had been playin for 8 hours solid on it.Exhibition mode is really quite difficult but career mode is alot better.Still not been online with it yet though
