Rayman set to make a return on current and next-gen consoles.

Ubisoft have announced today that a fourth Rayman game is in development.

The 10-year old franchise, will be making a return at the end of 2006 when it is released on current and next-generation gaming platforms. The project is underway at Ubisoft Montpellier and is lead by Michel Ancel, one of the more famous video-game masterminds, and creator of Beyond Good & Evil and King Kong.

Having sold more than 16 million Rayman games to date, Rayman has been a popular and successful series of games for Ubisoft so it's no wonder they're wanting to bring the character back. :)

I quite liked the Rayman series. It was great on 2D and was still great when it made the jump to 3D in Rayman 2: The Great Escape. This is a game I will want to have. :D
