Whats the most excited you have been about getting a game?

Everyone loves new games. Sometimes our obsession builds up until we cannot wait for the new game to drop through the letterbox or arrive at our local gamestore.

Question is How excited have you ever been to receive a game?

Which Game was it?

Was the excitement justified?

Did you go to the store at midnight to get it?

Mines was Yie Ar Kung Fu on the Spectrum. I played this game to death in the Arcade and when it was announced for the Spectrum my excitment level started to build. My gran bought me the game for xmas and she bought it at the start of December. That meant I have nearly a whole month to wait, knowing that the game was in my house but I couldnt get it.

I tried leaving hints to get the game early, leaving my copy of the spectrum magazine at the review page, but nothing worked.

When I got the game on xmas morning me and my brother must have played it for at least 14 hours that day, breaking a joystick in the process.

Mine would proberly be GTA:SA, there was so much hype. I couldn't wait to play on it. I got it around 6 o clock on the day it came out.

I have never gone somewhere to buy a game at 12. I don't think I ever will.

When I got Tony Hawk's American Wasteland on October 28th last year. I had been anticipating it for months and then on the day it came out I biked all the way to Tesco's (a couple of miles) to get the game. Then when I got home and played it, I actually couldn't believe I was playing the new Tony Hawk's game! lol. :D

Its got to be GTA san andreas. Me and my best mate waited out side game for the midnight launch not because we were worried about it selling out but because we were so excited about playing we even pulled a sickie in work the next day and played all day. :geek:

Street fighter 2 on the snes,i didnt know it was out, and paid a humungous 65 quid on it (from comet i think) I couldnt wait to to get home and play that sucker! I phoned my little brother (raide)..oops, and probably played it for nearly 24hrs straight. by the way, i saw said game in the shop gamestation the other day for 2 quid! so i might wait 14 years and get a copy af graw and a 360 for about £25! ;)

I'd probably say Super Mario 64 when I first got my N64. It looked freaking awesome, and I was so excited about it all week.

Definitely lived up to my expectations as well. :cool:

Definately GTA: San Andreas for me too. Like a couple said. I didn't go to the store at midnigt but I may aswell of done as I couldn't sleep. :D. Luckily my Grandad took me around 8AM to go get it from Gamestation, I then sat there and played it for 4 days, solid! Just plainly becasue there was sooo much hype and talk about it that I go soooo excited. :D

The original Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast.

The idea of playing a console game online was a huge new experience for a lot of people, and I was completely indulged in that game for a good year. What was even better was that the game was run over 56k and it ran smoother than a lot of broadband games now.

It didn't help that right when I got the game I broke my leg, those four weeks out of school were all RPG.

Zelda Wind Waker for me. Probably the bonus disc I wanted more but when I stuck the WW disc in it was fantastic. Now that I have finished I can definetly say it lived up to my expectations.

I dunno. I was pretty excited about getting GTAIII, as well as Rome: Total War. Both of course lived well up to the hype I worked myself up into.

Oh yeah! Streetfighter 2 with 8 Characters to play with. Me and my Bro played that for hours. That game rocked!. I have never been so excited about playing a game. The other was when I got my N64 and Goldeneye...ahhhhhh! I ran home clutching the box to my chest so I could play it as soon as I got home.
