Cinematical has posted what it claims are MAJOR SPOILERS about the plot of Spider-Man 3. Bear in mind that their scoop comes from The IMDB, which in turn cites Dark Horizons as the original source of the purported leak.

The report claims that Venom is indeed the other villain in addition to Sandman, and that Harry Osborne will become the new Green Goblin. It also suggests that "Gwen Stacy, daughter of the new police chief, will in fact develop a crush on Peter, causing some sort of love triangle as Pete and (Mary Jane) are finally getting their relationship off the ground."

Cinematical's report also has details about how Spidey gets his new black suit, how Eddie Brock becomes Venom and how Flint Marko transforms into Sandman. The most SPOILERISH and gripping claim is that, "Lives of people 'close to Peter' will be lost."

Fans will know all this for certain when Spider-Man 3 opens May 4, 2007.

Ive just been reading empire magazine (may issue) and it seems that the black suit as something to do with venom.The suit is made from a living alien substance that tries to possess him.it rejects him and latches on to Eddie Brock, whos got a grudge against Peter Parker.The article also says that spidermans posture suggests he is morning the death of a loved one (Aunt May?) I cant make anything out but in the previous posters for the movie does spiderman have reflections in the eyes of his mask?

The story of Venom must be the same as the series (and comics?), from memory and rough gist.....Mary Jane's fella is an astronaut, on a mission somewhere he brings back a symbiotic life form...this fuses with a Spidey suit (hence black suit) but like you say rejects Peter and joins with Eddie Brock.

A comic buff can fill in the specifics.
