The only FIFAs I played and enjoyed was FIFA '98 and '99 on the PSX...those were fun...but now they dont work anymore...

My thoughts exactly Frenchy, its even starting to have similar buttons e.g. Super Cancel (R2 I think) and the dummys are the same button.

For me, FIFA '06 is about on par maybe a bit better than Pro Evo 4.

what u talking about fifa has always been good looking and had some great game play, depsite the fact its pulling from other resources. What i dont like however is how the 360 version is the path to the world cup, no club teams whas up with that.? :'(

I can remember playing a massive league with about 10 mates on FIFA 2001 whenever the PS2 just came out. My mate scored 87 in 12 matches with Henrik Larsson.

Cross from Lambert, Header/Overhead Kick from Larsson, goal.

Fifa, looks horrible, plays horrible and plainly is horrible. Terrible game, Teddy Sheringham is 21 in it for f*ck sake, that just sums up the whole game.

I dont know what all your problems are with FIFA....I know Winning eleven is great as well but who actually got their A$$ in gear and made at least some sort of football action for us on the 360. And no its not gonna be perfect but it should be solid like usual. What is the big deal with international teams anyway. They were on time constraints visually molding faces from scratch. Plus there are like double the international teams this yr plus an update for all systems is coming out in spring 06, Which will also be out before Winning eleven on X360. And just so you know im not nescesarily a fifafan....I will admit I do enjoy them and i think they make a decent game. I have just recently gotten the chance to get familiar with WE 8 this past year until I sold my ps2 for the 360 and I love the game play and it definately is more realistic and fun. I am just not going to complain when there in fact is no other choice right now because they Konami decided we werent a priority yet.

I presume that Pro Evo 5 will be one of the 'backward compatible' games on 360, seen as it was released today, and I guess it makes sense to buy it and then just play it on the 360. I'm guessing that you'll still be able to use it online with XBox live, and still play against folk on the original XBox. Lot of presumptions and guesses in that statement.

Fifa hasn't been great since 98, when it was easily the best footy game available. I'll probably buy the new game on the 360, because it will be the only one designed for a next-gen console. If the gameplays the same as this years effort on the ps2 and xbox then I can see it being very quickly returned.

I'm looking forward to the new Fifa and I think the screenshots look incredibly indepth. I'm only disappointed this year by the occasional slow-down on Fifa 06 XB which just shouldn't happen.
I know EA have ramped up some animations, and tweaked some stuff, but the animations and appearances are nearly exactly Fifa 05 in essence.
PES does seem to flow and move quicker.
I can't say I've scored many similar goals in Fifa as I generally stick to the management, starting with the lower league teams, which demand much more to build up to a goal.
Biggest win this season for example - 3-1 away at Wolves with Preston NE. AM i the only one that does this?

I know seriously......why does everyone get all bent outta shape over this crap....god its the same with the console war....state your opinion and have a discussion about pluses and minuses of the two and hope they both push each other to get better for us so we can get a bad A$$ game one of these days.

Personally I wish they would merge konami and EA's soccer franchises and we would have some hella good fun!

Nah, merging would lead to more problems than benefits.

True, we would probably have great gameplay and all the licensing, but the thing is, then there would be no competition, so there'd be no rush to upgrade the games in the future to keep up with the changing face of football.

Pro Evo and FIFA are the only really serious football games, so merging them would mean they'd completely dominate the market, like FIFA used to do in the past. And FIFA games in the late 90s are a prime example of how things might turn out... they were all practically the same, barring graphical updates.

ISS98 is certainly more fun to play then F06.

FIFA is for more casual games, who just want to pick up & play. People without patience, who want to score crazy goals without much effort. Although I must add, this statement falls down with the latest one, 2006. Hard to score, but it still misses the stuff that makes PES5 so good.

I rate it higher than all PES games. As far as enjoyment goes, anyway. I spent over 500 hours on that on my N64.

Thats interesting....you all like to talk about scoring the same goal EVERY time then this game is 10X worse than fifa in that area. Sure if you mess around you can score other goals sometimes but if you are tight on time say 85th min. sprint your A$$ down the side line cross it and score mabey three or four more goals that exact way in that last 5 min. of ARCADE TIME! The only variation there is whether your man bikes it home or heads it....game has fun playability but you cant say it is not much more arcadish than FIFA.

I'v just taken another look at the FIFA screenies and they look absolutely fantastic.
I expect this to be better than the latest FIFA on PS2.
Which is really crap imo.

Well considering I still throw in my FIFA 98 once in awhile to play some indoor soccer I would have to say that is my favorite. And as I previously stated there ARE other ways to score but seems a little weak to cross and score 99 percent of the time. ISS was definately a fun game....too bad they died off or we might have 3 great franchises going right now to push each other.
