Supposed' Halo 3 Features:
- The game will in fact be called 'Forerunner' and not Halo 3
- 4 Player Co-op online and offline
- Huge maps
- Cause and effect, for example if you destroy a weapons cache in one level, that will then result in a lower amount of ammo for you and your enemies in the next level.

I read something like this on another forum, as well.

I think it's all bullcrap, personally. Why would they release a game that's basically Halo 3 without the name? Halo 3 is a name which attracts a lot of attention, and needlessly changing it to something else could very well cost them sales figures, which is why releasing the game with the name Forerunner would be pointless.

So much for the rumours about Halo 3 being called Forerunner - turns out it's all a hilarious April Fool's joke.

It all started with a post on the Xbox.com forums by someone calling himself DM Duo Maxwell, who claimed to have transcribed an article about the game which appears in the forthcoming issue of Game Informer magazine.

His post said that the game will feature "huge persistent worlds" built around a modified Halo 2 engine, that Master Chief would, star, and that there would be a co-op mode for up to four players.



But it's all nonsense, according to a forum post by a bloke from Bungie: "We can't smack 'em for an April Fool's gag. Not like we never did any." Ah well

So it turned out to a April fools joke oh well Halo 3 will be a better name for the new Halo instead of Forerunner.
