So PS3 is to have 60gb HDD included, mandatory for all games, free Live service (excluding MMO's and online storage).

Will Microsoft eliminate the Core edition, make the 20GB HD standard and make hard drive support mandatory for all games? Will Xbox Live Silver include online gameplay? Will we start to see more Free Xbox Live weekends after PlayStation 3’s launch?

If one has to believe Shane Kim's words, we shouldn’t expect big changes in Microsoft’s strategy but even if leaders don’t react, they have to remain competitive…

I think MS have to change to provide a package that compete favourably to Sony's...especially to a casual or neutral gamer.

I love competition, better deals for us!!!

Your thoughts.

I bet Microsoft will start changing things. I mean Sony is bringing stuff that Microsoft is not giving gamers like, 60 HD and free online play. Cant wait to see M start changing things, you right. This is so fun!

i would think that by november, or indeed in novemver, microsoft willmake the core obsolete, make the premium the new 'core' and price it at 230, and the 'new' premium will include either a 40 or 60gb hdd more likely 60. live will probably stay the same i feel, some more trials and weekends towards the ps3 launch, i think it will be the same price and microsoft will push that fact that you dont have to sign up for 12 months.
i also think that when sony say its free to play games on PNP, im thinking more towards XBLA type games, not 'real' ones, you will have to pay for that(how else will they make a profit? will the bluray and hdd included)

my prediction, probably wrong or flawed (Y)

There is bound to be a catch with the online so called 'free'. The fact of the matter is, if it is indeed free, that means again Sony are not going to make any money from the online gaming. We all know where that left the PS2 network.

I agree about Marketplace though, it seriously needs organising better!
