A Survival Guide to FireFight

I'm going to do an editorial on the main site creating a guide to surviving FireFight and I need your help.

Leave your tips on how to survive the rounds in FireFight, then i'll turn your tips, along with mine, into a Survival Guide for the people who need it most.

Do what I did, play with two idiots (You and RBF ;)) and leave you two to fight while I have some pizza. Worked alright for me, I got an achievement for it :)

Erm... Collect the sniper and rocket launcher after they have spawned and store them in the spawn room for later.
Avoid hammer guys. Take them out with headshots with the carbine when they are stationary on the other side of the map, only takes 5-7 shots.
Watch out for dirty snipers.
Get to know the map, where there can come at you from etc.

Oh yeah, dont play with DVX or RBF.

when you get a grunt round collect up a needler and save it for the brutes you can take them out quickly with half a clip.

best thing to do in the flying rounds is run for cover.

sticky grandes are best saved for hunters i think it takes 2 nades.

and if your the last guy left always do a death or glory charge with the hammer
i think it was 7 brutes i made my way through before they killed me

ill be on later on best way to research is to play it divy x

well its easy to survive, just if all you do is survive you wont get any points

what i do to rack in points and survive is (using lost platoon as an example):

First thing i do is grab the laser and keep changing weapons until i have my pistol, the smg and the laser up the stairs (keep the high ground), the sniper is alredy upstairs

then, if theres a wraith, ill grab my laser and shoot it
IMMEDIATELY after that, i cap a few grunts in the face (this DOUBLES the points u get from the wraith kill)

You should already have about 6k points from that one wraith
then all i do is camp out on the top level under the roof (protection from buzzers or wutever and also wraith fire)

now, if theres no buzzers (just grunts, jackals and brutes), ill grab snipe and snipe as many brutes as i can from high ground, then jackels then grunts (keep the sniper spree for points)

and then i pretty much just jump down, grab a chopper and kill everyone else. (avoid splattering, much easier to get overkills and such by shooting)

on levels with buzzers, i always kill them first, just grab smg and fire in spurts at them, with a well placed shot you can kill the green ones with one spurt

After theyre dead, i pretty much do the same thing as before ^

ANNNDDD when that skull is on where they deflect bullets
i have pistol and plasma pistol, best combination by far
get EMP kills against brutes and pistol for everything else

And i guess when that skull is on where you regen by meleeing,
These rounds take longer cause what i do is hide while the phantoms are dropping troops (dont start out with red health) and then continue doing what id normally do until i get hit a bunch, which is when ill go hide somewhere and wait for some retarded grunt or jackal to come up
and beat his ass

Last point: whenever you can, use melee instead of shooting
eg. if theres 3 jackals running up at u looking like they dont even see you (which they actually do), beat the ---- outta them
Also: since u have the higher ground, if you see a lonely brute under you somewhere while youre walking above him, quickly drop down and assassinate him and run your fat ass back up those stairs or ur dead

yea...

What difficulty you play on dude?

Dvx, make the guide for the 'Heroic' Difficulty.

Ok, straight away, having 4 people is good :P
And im warranted to give good advice as im top of my friends list :P
We tried for that vidmaster and died on like the wave before the end :(

Lost Platoon is the level we did it on and here's what we did :

Everyone stays inside the building, grab the weapons, sniper and laser, use laser only against the Wraiths as they drop. Park the hog at the top of the building in an area where wraith fire can't reach it.

When choppers are dropped, have the sniper headshot them before they land, and if it fails, Plasma Pistol and kill / board. Get 2 + People in choppers and you will survive a LONG time.

When the Bugs come along (the most annoying damn -------s in the game) Use the Parked warthog (see above) Turret and mow em down, they will come to you :)
Rinse and Repeat.

A little Tip is to use the compass or make callouts for the map, such as:

Wraith Droppign North West, Chopper North East, Help on low Spawn :)
Its good :)

Yeah Heroic seems to be a decent standard to play Firefight.

I'll draft up something over the weekend and put it up on site.

Some good tips there guys. Keep them coming, espcially if you have specific map tips....

Probably "..don't go in alone, the odds will be stupidly stacked against you" should be somewhere in paragraph 1.
