Is Sony hiding behind it's 10 year life cycle plans?

There's been a lot of talk about it at press conferences and what not but what do you guys think?

Does everyone agree with what they are saying or feel it just PR spin to disguise the difficult start for their console this time round?

Yeah, I see your point, they dont want to the PS3 to be seen as a failure and this way its got another 7/8 odd years to redeem the awful start it had.

Although I forsee we'll be seeing some new consoles mid 2011 anyway.
