As much as I didn't like her as a person, at 27 (or any age for that fact) that's no way to die.

R.I.P

I don't really feel sorry at all... she pretty much milked it before she went and is racist. I don't see why she had to all that news coverage when there's soldiers dying or thousands of the same condition just carrying on.

Meh, people die... it's life, why does she get all this limelight?

Any loss of life is tragic, but as you say there are lots more people who are suffering the same way on a daily basis.

I feel bad for her, I think people should be less nasty. Her kids have lost their mother on mothers day. That's a horrible reminder of her death. While everyone is celebrating their mother, they are mourning theirs.

Agreed.

I didn't like her because her 'celebrity' status was due to her being racist and going public about her cancer - pretty much making sure we knew EVERY detail. Remember when Kylie Minogue got cancer? We didn't hear a peep out of her until the images of her were released. Fortunately, she was better off.

The only 'plus' side to Goody going public with her cancer is that it encourage more to go for screen checks, but otherwise she was definitely looking for the sympathy.

Her kids don't deserve to lose their mother, even though I do despise her. I don't think being Mother's Day makes much of a difference, more-so at a young age though it probably will in the future.

After her funeral, we'll never hear of this for another year and thank god. People are doing heroic stuff every day, much more significant than Jade Goody announcing her plans to give out goody bags. Let's give someone else their moment in the spotlight and let Jade Goody take a step-to-the-side.

I also believe it is terrible for her children - which no person should have to experience .However the publicity she received wasn't fair as there are 1000s Of people out there who have cancer and 1000s More before them who have been taken by the disease. None of these people get the same attention. It just show how our society is obsessed with celeberites... Hoowever she did increas Awarenes about how cancer can affect anyone. Rip jade goody ..

The only people I feel sorry for here is the children. It is pretty sad that they've lost a mother and it really is no way to live their lives

But I don't have much sympathy for Jade Goody. She's done nothing to help the country and has decided to make a huge deal over her death.
As people have said, soliders are dying for an actual purpose and they hardly get any media coverage

She got as much coverage as possible to safeguard her childrens future...if I knew I was going to die soon I'd do the same given the chance and I applaud her for doing so.

To say she hasn't contributed to the country is ridiculous...what does the majority do contribute? If you say work etc. then so did she, and in that respect did more than most seeing as she opened a salon of her own product range and stuff. If working is contributing due to taxes then I'm sure she's contributed way more than most ever will.

Being as public as possible will only raise awareness of cervical cancer...how is that a bad thing in any sense?

Saying she gets what she deserves because she is racist is the biggest crock of ----.....she wasn't racist. She may have made a racial slur, a rather inoffensive one at that, but so do most people...I'm going to the Paki shop, I fancy a Chinky...no more harmful than the comments she made.

Some people just love to hate I guess.

I felt sorry for her, knowing your time in life is fast running out, knowing you won't be around to see your children grow up and there's nothing you can do about it....who wants to be in that position?

:)

Looks like I'm with the majority in that I only feel sorry for the kids, I never really saw the appeal of her and had no clue where her instant celebrity came from. AS said numerous times, thousands of people are suffering from cancer and have money troubles but just because she deigned to be racist on TV, she gets money. Fair enough, it's for the kids, but still. Unjust.
