... "If you can't beat it, cheat it!". However, I think cheating just ruins the game experience but hey, what do I know? I remeber cheating on a game a long time ago, can't even remember which game... after 5, 10 minutes, it just got so boring that I stopped playing it. No fun, no play!

The reason why I wrote here is because I just wanted to be the first to post something in some forum... I've never done that... until now.

Cheating in single-player games is up to the individual. Personally I try to avoid it but it can also provide an interesting alternative after you've beaten the game normally.

I agree with that, it's up to each individual and if the game is done, then I don't really care. But personally, it's nicer to actually beat the game without cheating, gives me a satisfaction that I wouldn't get if cheating my way through it.

Yeah, I did GTA:Vice City cheating, did enjoy it, but not as much as San Andreas which I did without cheats, was great fun! :D

I always liked the cheats that you had to do something to unlock. Example: Goldeneye set a number of challenges and your reward was something new in the cheat mode. That's the best.

Cheats are only fun if its SINGLEplayer and you've already finished the game...In morrowind for example on the PC you could put in cheats through the console for GOD mode, and you could just go around town killing everyone in sight and watching all the guards come after you, and just slash them with one mighty blow! Ahh..good times! But cheating in a multiplayer game is very, very low...in singleplayer the only person you're harming is the NPCs and/or yourself. In a multiplayer game, you're giving yourself a very unfair advantage against other REAL people who just want to play and have a good time. Take Halo2 for example...lets see how many different cheats we can list:

Standby
flag bouncing
dummy-ing
wall glitches
game-save mods
as well as a **** load of other mods that people dish out over live...

god them peeps piss me off..but singleplayer cheating is fun so long as you've already finished the game..

Cheating seems pointless to me.

I ussualy just use a single cheat if I can't beat something after many tries, then I disable it once I beat that part.

Or I use cheats for fun like in the GTA series.

I find nothing wrong against cheating because the devolopers obviously support cheats if they are there.

Does "bending the rules" in GTA count as cheating?

What I mean is not actually entering a code but doing things such as pre-setting up tanks for someone to get blocked so you can beat them in a race, things like that that always seem to be done :D

Action Replay is always an essential for me it brings life to old games you have completed :) Would never even attempt to use cheats or codes online though thats just bad mmm'kay….

That's the same with me. I play a section over and over and over and STILL can't beat it then i'll use the cheats and then disable them after I finish that area.

I like the idea of unlockables better than cheats. I mean, unlocking godmode and such is fun but i'd much rather new game content like new costumes, levels, weapons and stuff like that to play through the game again.

I did the exact same thing...wasn't San Andreas a little easier than Vice City?

Heh, I did exactly the same thing as well.

Cheated the whole way through Vice City, but then in San Andreas decided to play it without cheating at all. Completed the main game and got to about 66%, then gave up as I couldn't be assed going about looking for hidden stuff.

The hidden stuff is a pain in the cheeky cheeks (im trying not to sound profane...guys like die2nite and rollercoasterrider would know...hehe ;-)! But i think I'm at 79% or something....

cheating is something i do as a matter of convienince(sp sorry). I will play the game ENTIRLY through first, then when i go back and play again and again, i may use a couple of comfort cheats (no god mode for me). Take morrowind for instance, if i run out of mana, i may just refill it by cheat and do my health at the same time instead of sleeping. but other then that, cheats are just spoilers for otherwise perfect games.
