News: Socom: Confrontation to be released 'early 09'

According to Sony, Socom: Confrontation will be released early 2009. The US have already got their hands on the game, but PAL regions have only been treated to a BETA of the game (of which you can read my impressions here (http://www.consolemonster.com/preview.php?id=0000000758&cat=handson)).

Speaking to CVG Sony stated the following:

"An extremely tight production schedule in the run up to peak season means the US version of SOCOM: Confrontation will launch ahead of the PAL region,"

"Now that the European beta trial has concluded we can now announce that the launch of both European versions (PSN & Blu-ray) will be in early in 2009."

At least the game will be with us shortly. I'm still a bit annoyed at the US for getting the game first, but unfortunately that seems to be the way the gaming industry flows. Share your thoughts by leaving a comment below!

Bit dissapointed but I would rather get a game is top quality form, from reading the review on the front page with the servers playing up, I dont want to play online now if I always dissconnect and cant get in games does not really bother me allthough the game does look good I can wait.

The game is good from the map i played on. The bad reviews have been towards horrific servers especially for an online only game

Hi guys quick question allthough Socom is not out until next year and the PS3 i think is region Free could I get a copy of the US version and play it on my UK PS3?

If so where is the best place to get a copy

Got this yesterday and it is good only played 2 unranked games but gameplay seems good but servers are terrible When they sort out servers I will play this quite a bit.

Bit dissapointed that they did not put some kind of training level in this game as you just have to go online straight away, went in unranked games 1st as did not have a clue how the game played before playin it.

Visually pretty decent.
