Who bought an Xbox on release day?

Just a quick heads up for those that did in the UK. Your 3 year RROD warranty is about to expire on 2/12/08.

Might be the time for your release machines to mysteriously develop a RROD to get a newer machine that could last longer ;)

God knows when I got this console that i've got now.

Had a release date one, broke after a couple of months. Had another couple of breakages, and on my 4th one now, had this one well over 18months I think. But it's rubbish, it's been broke most of that time, I get black (sometimes white) patches flashing us furiously on most games, on random parts of the environment, but i've just played through it through laziness.

I remember buying and lining up outside my Local game at like 3 in the morning, for about an 1-2 hours with my preorder, grabbing my Perfect Dark Zero and another controller, and premium box and leaving :) with a very big grin...
...Then as i left the store i noticed i had a full day of school :|
I cried and screamed inside as my dad walked off with xbox 360...
Longest Day of my life :D

Very true. Seems wierd. Been here for over 3 years. Really doesn't seem that long at all. I've grown up with this place. It's close to my heart. Etc. Etc. Etc.

I have a launch premium in the house and never had any real problems with it, the odd dirty disk error and sometimes the drive gets stuck but its been mint and thats the one that has seen the most amount of gaming (min 3 hours every day).

Never have been a saver, but i got a shoebox, made it like fort knox with cellotape :) - Pasted a picture on top of 360 and some accessories and some text saying 'Insert Money for Xbox here :)'

I made that box when the 360 was very first announced - from that moment on, spare change, some lunch money and some birthday money went in there.

We opened the box ONCE, and that was 2 days before launch. We counted the money and i had something like £480! :O
I was amazed, and very proud of keeping the box kept shut to ensure i saved :)

It was with that i bought the xbox, game, and charger etc

Of course, for the time i saved, i lost out on other things in general :)

Same here, most of my purchases are impulse buys. My bro loves it as he gets to play with all the latest gadgets and tech and never needs to put his hand in his pocket.
