As most people will have this installed I thought I would collate a list of all the small hints, tips and features that havent really been documented elsewhere.

To install games to Hardrive

1.) have disc in drive
2.) from the dashboard select "My Xbox"
3.) Press Y for game details
4.) Select "Install to hardrive"
5.) Go do something else for 12mins

Delete 0 Gamerscore games from your Profile

You can delete old game histories from your profile now.
Handy for getting rid of demos and 0 gamerpoint scores.

Press the Xbox Guide button, left to Marketplace and then Achievements.
Any with 0 score will have the option to press X to delete.

Avatars

When taking a picture of your Avatar if you zoom right in and then flick the right thumb stick up then down your Avatar will headbutt the inside of your TV

When taking a picture of your avatar for a gamerpic, if you press the L1 and R1 triggers together your avatar does different movements.

If you want Anime Coloured Hairstyles just let the My Features screen idle for around a minute without touching anything, when you go into hairstyle you should have a new colour pallete to choose from

How to use Photoparty

See if the Photoparty tile appears under the Spotlight menu in the dashboard, if it does, go into it and download the Photoparty component. Once done, select Play now.

To get into Photoparty every other time, just come back to the Spotlight menu and see if the Photoparty tile is there, open it and select Play Now.

Other members of your party/friends will need the component before they can join you.

Secret Achievements - see how much they are worth

Go to My Xbox and click on the screen where it says Signed In. As you probably know by now all your games played are shown in a line on the right. Any games you have that have secret achievements, it now shows how much they are worth.

New HDMI Options in Setup

It's entirely dependent on what television/display/screen you have.

Some screens will only accept RGB. However, some will accept YCbCr and this will give better results on certain displays.

There's two YCbCr options on the NXE:

1) YCbCr 709 - this is for HD i.e. anything 720p and above. If your television is HD Ready, and can accept this, this is the one you want to try. As long as it shows up and doesn't have messed up colours, your television accepts and displays it. Stick with it.

2) YCbCr 601 - this is for SD output i.e. anything that's not HD ready. You shouldn't ever really need to select this unless your television/display doesn't handle the HD 709 correctly. You can then select this instead.

There's another option that is great for people with video processors, and that is the 'Source' Direct option. This outputs whatever is being played in its native colour space. So for example, most games are RGB... however videos and stuff will likely be YCbCr (the Gears Of War 2: Last Day trailer that you can download from Marketplace is an example of material that is YCbCr natively). This is the best option for people with high quality video processors, as you can just output everything natively... so the XBox doesn't have to do any conversion. All colour space conversions can then be done in your VP.

Thanks to the OP from the boards I nabbed these from.

Anyone know of anymore?

I like the new feature that shows you that "friends are playing this game" when you put it in.

The anime colours for hair can also be obtained by spinning the right analog stick clockwise for 60 seconds, you'll see the hair icon spin round and a chime will sound indicating it has unlocked.

I'm usually the one who has to set up parties as quite a few people don't want randoms joining the party and they don't know where the feature is to make it invite only so here...

Change Party to Invite Only:

Note; You need to be the host of the Party to do this.

Press the Guide button > Party > Party Options. Change Party Status to Invite Only.

Also... useful if you've joined a game with other people other than your party and want to communicate with them too...

Change from Party Chat to Game Chat without leaving Party:

Press the Guide Button > Party, Press Y to change to Chat Channel

(Do the same to change back to Party Chat)

Same as on the old Dashboard then.

I remember someone asking how it was down on these forums somewhere, so there's no harm in adding the info. Especially when on the old dash you didn't slide along when you were in the guide ;)

Was that the Cha Cha Slide on the Dashboard Slide :)

You could make up an irritating tune and a wee dance to show us.
