Where did you preorder yours from?
I preordered from my trusty PLAY (WWW.PLAY.COM) as thats where i usually preorder big game releases from.

I also Preordered the Limited Edition (Y) Shame it dosen't come with much, but i got GEARS 1 limited, so why not the 2nd?

What feature are you looking forward to most?
Horde Mode :) And all the online features that are new, also the co-op and storyline... God damn, all of it :D

Whats the first thing your going to do once its up and running?
Online for me :) Play with fellow TEAM100 members as we rejoice, and have a sausage fest; then break into groups for CO-OP!

Have had it for weeks and played it once, only played the 1st two levels and shelved it to concentrate on more interesting games :)

The feature I am most looking forward to playing when the servers have more players is Horde Mode. 5 players, wave after wave of locuts scum :)

Didn't bother wasting my time pre-ordering, because like Phat says, there's absolutely no chance you won't find one on launch day.

Especially in a big city with 15-20 places to buy the game. We've got thousands coming in to my GAME store on Wednesday alone. Just glad I don't have to work on Friday. :cool:

Preordered from Blockbuster coz its 30 yards from my front door now ive moved so i wont have to walk the 4 mins into town :) and blockbuster usually sell at £5 less than most other shops on brand new games, ill get it for £35 not £40.

i cant wait to play the campaign and horde mode, plus the new capture the flag mode and wingman. I just want all of it, cant wait.

Anyone gonna in on friday all day like me playing it? I need someone to play co-op with or we would get 5 of us together for horde.

Yeah there's supposedly a part in the last level where you have a turret aimed at a sink hole and you can rack up 100 kills, then reload the checkpoint over and over.

I just went past a bit at the start of the game, 100's poured out of a hole and you have a huge machine gun. You could do that there if you care so much :p

Just played a bit of Horde...it's awesome! Total carnage! It made me laugh how you can chainsaw gangbang...we had 3 of us all chopping up one poor Locust at the same time. The new Locust look great too...only got to Wave 7 or so but it was a lot of fun. Looking forward to getting a few people on it later.

The radio may have been the answer but it dont matter now. I'll watch the game then go down ASDA at midnight and do my shopping and pick up Gears.

To prevent people quitting. If thats how it is, thats good. Gears 1 quitting was a major problem. Now if someone wasnt to ruin the game for others, they turn off their console :)

Well got the game today and first impressions really was the gameplay love the little things they have added like the crawling when you are downed love the shielding enemies and the chainsaw battles but there are some new bad ass weapons in the game like the artillery gun flamethrower is bad ass all tho does not kill the enemy that quickly. Chaingun dont know weathr that was in Gears 1?

Horde mode will be hell of fun with 5 people me and guy on freinds list tryed insane with just 2 and only got to the second round I am not the best at gears but I have a feeling this mode wil take some beating.

Not tryed campaign out yet wil do in co-op tommorow.

The new cog and locust characters you can be look amazing.

I would give the game about 9 -10 so far on what I have seen.

I just finished Act 1 on Hardcore. Didnt seem to hardcore but I was playing co-op.

The enemies are massive but dont hang around for long. I think they are just giving you a flavour of what is to come :D

Unluky m8, I rarely use Play now due to that policy. Shopto all the way for pre-orders. You always get them before release day and they are sent recorded delivery so you can check their progress. If it hasnt turned up after 72 hours you can get a replacement sent right away.

They are normally cheaper than Play as well:)

I'm sick of people playing horde for the Wave 10 achievement, 3 times me and my mate Lurky joined with randoms, got to wave 10 and the majority, or host, quits ----ing everyone else over. Furthest we got was to wave 19 and that was just the 2 of us from level 10 onwards.

The only thing we've played so far is horde, gonna go through the campaign Sunday because that's when we're all on. It's ok so far, the morter gun thing is beast.

I am the first house on my Posties round and he is usually here around 8ish, 9.30 on a Saturday. He never chaps the door so have us sign a recorded delivery package either, just pops them through. Luckily we have a mail catcher or the dogs would demolish it. You should see the state of my PGR4 when I got it.

I've done up to 40 so far...it's not too tricky as you can carry on from the Wave you last finished on. I was under the impression you had to go from Wave 1 each time! The furthest I got from 1 before failing is 28...on the industrial map with the walkway on top....it was mental!

I think matchmaking must be normal difficulty as you always have a 2x bonus for difficulty when playing.

MJ, thanks for that, I never knew about that because I was also under the same impression. That would make things alot easier.

Craziest one we've tried it on so far is the level with the bridge in the middle and a morter that spawns on it (I think it was called 'river'). We were just blasting the waves from centre bridge to begin with, when we got to the later waves we'd be fighting them from inside the barn, it's a good vantage point actually, only one way in and there's plenty of room for everyone's gunfire. It was so nuts though, fighting wave after wave watching the bodies pile up into a nice mound.

Campaign Really Draws You in!
Cut scenes are immense!
Multiplayer is awesome, new game modes are sweet- unfortunately played quite a few really really laggy games, but rest is cool.
HORDE Mode! Is awesome :D

yeah im having issues shooting the artillary down on the 2nd mission

try shooting the artillery with your normal gun instead of the turret, and holding RB on the turret will make it cooldown faster.

this game is sweet as! Im at the part where your in the landown map in campaign and you have to use the mortar, what do you do after you destroy the bit you were ment to?

On act four at the moment, had some trouble with the bit where your driving the tank, but apart from that no real big bits that were hard. Playing on Hardcore btw, Insane later :)

this game is too good. I've completed the campaign, got up to 45 on horde and played some MP. Wingman is really hard, you need such a good team mate and meamwork is essential. Annex is still great fun but i havent tried capture the meatflag yet.

Anyone want to try the campaign on insane at some point? I didnt find it that hard on hardcore only few bits got tough but that was mainly down to me playin with mates who never played it before

You shoot the blue tenticles until the round tongue like thing comes out then you have to throw a grenade into it, then it'll spit you out, repeat 3 times I think

Just completed on Hardcore, pretty good, story was ok, felt more action packed but not all out war like they were selling it as. Off to do horde now, then recomplete on insane :)

Apparantly you can get 1000 kills on the last level alone so not very long really. :)

Decent so far like. I'm upto act 2 after one small sitting, i just got annoyed at dying once so i just sacked it off for a while. The multipayer seems really intense and quite insane, and that's after playing the training modes (i just wanted the achievement). I'd like to do Horde co op aswell, it's pretty difficult on your own. And LOL @ Butchers, big -------s.

Yeah cheers, figuted it out last night.

Did it all, Wave 1-50, got the achievement. We did it on Normal difficulty.

We had a few go's at Wave 50 on INSANE, just for the laugh.

All 4 of us didn't survive past the 1 minute mark, and we never killed any enemy. We had about 5 attempts aswell. It's gotta be impossible to complete.

Been playing quite a bit of single player today, some absolutely amazing set pieces. Graphics are jawdroppingly good at some points. It makes the original Gears look like a tech demo :)

GoW 3: Screw GoW 3, that's 3 years away. They best make this one better with patches and ----. The Chainsaw is an ultimate Noob weapon; I pistol a kid in the face 5 times as he's charges towards me with his chainsaw wielding, I get chainsawed, WTF, he should drop his chainsaw and then start again, NOT CONTINUE. It's ruining the gameplay right now TBFH.
Is anyone else also finding the overall multi-player glitchy as ----? Sometimes i'm sandbagging in the corner of a small wall, my guy'll sometimes flip out like a ninja, it's crazy. Also wtf is with the massive host issues again, shotgun's a massive pile of fail if you use it on American host.
Meh, good game currently but it could be better, JUST FIX THE ----ING CHAINSAW! :@

Some people are never happy. Very impressive graphics, and easily the most fun shooter I've played on 360. If I was on the credits for gears I'd be smug too.

Im not talking the Piss here, but wtf did Epic do with the Ending? Hardcore was easy enough, but the last boss is a joke. You don't even have to shoot him as the computer does it for you! WTF. It looked impressive but it was an epic fail.

That has made me so annoyed. The game is too short (although I loved the story line and really enjoyed playing it co-op) and a little too easy for my liking. Just as well insane is...insane :p

Im not talking the Piss here, but wtf did Epic do with the Ending? Hardcore was easy enough, but the last boss is a joke. You don't even have to shoot him as the computer does it for you! WTF. It looked impressive but it was an epic fail.

That has made me so annoyed. The game is too short (although I loved the story line and really enjoyed playing it co-op) and a little too easy for my liking. Just as well insane is...insane :p

I haven't even started on the single player campaign yet because everytime I sign into XBL I get spammed with loads of multiplayer invites. Since I have the urge to kill people (virtual ones) then I join them for some action.

its not easy on insane, im on act2 and i just saw a locust use his downed mate as a body sheild!

Got to wave 50 on horde just now and its not too hard with 5 good players. But that was on normal, hardcore and insane will be tough. Did it on Day1

Best i've done from wave 1 is to get to 45 on security.

I loved the story, also didn't mind the last boss being so easy, as it turned out quite cinematic. if it had've been really hard and then he just got completely owned it would have looked dodgy at the end.

I'm doing insane with a mate at the moment and we're into act II where a city sinks. (trying to be vague so as not to spoil)

It's quite difficult but I reckon it will be nigh on impossible when we have to do the reaver racing back to Jacinto.

Every site and their uncle had the game early, you will need to start courting the MS reps a bit more. My mates who have a half arsed website got review copies no problem.

The reviews can be pretty good quality, but they do, as others have said, take their sweet time about getting on my screen.

Obviously this is not the fault of anyone per se, but it would kick ass if before a game comes out I could link a CM review to a friend.

I would love to, and I tried, but if you have a stand off between you with the Hammer burst and Lancer unloading a full clip then the lancer always wins which shouldn't really be the case. Plus you really need the chainsaw to have any chance up close.

I still tend to try and use the shotty then some noob charges along with a chainsaw and gets an easy kill.

Its abit ridiculous, I can understand Epic making the shotgun wekaer this time around becuase your right in the first one thats all people did, it always went down to a shotgun battle. But even then still took abit of skill

yeah, we had some good games last night, i think we lost about 2 out of 30.

And yes, i love the torque bow, its like a sniper that is one hit kill even if you hit them in the leg.

Yeah, Tru and I got all 5 of our team using the Hammerburst, it absolutely annihilates the Lancer and the Chainsaw is a bag of ----, I laugh at the people that try to chainsaw me now: Roll Backwards unleash half a clip of hammerburst into their head and hump em on the ground, the leave them to bleed out :p

Thing with the hammerburst as well is that by the end of a game I end up with about 29 kills and 34 Downs I always down them first, seeing as if I'm getting shot in the head with a lancer I will still beat him in a 1 v 1 if I hammerburst him in the torso. I can't believe more people don't use it. . .

Does anybody know how the ranks work ?
No idea mate, I've played in pretty much every game my mate has (no more, no less) and he's a 4 bar and I'm a 2 bar? It's ----ed up sometimes :/

I thinks Gears 2 is great. I, like many, thoroughly enjoyed the first but Gears 2 improves on pretty much everything in gears 1.The new online maps and gametypes i like but i feel the shotgun is FAR too weak (it cant stop a chainsaw?) and i like how they have put matchmaking in, i disagree with ranks - they should not have bothered, in Gears 1 you could just hop on and have a good game online but now evryone is worried about their ranks (CoD4 has the best rank up system) and it kinda ruins it for me. Matchmaking + Parties?Yes. Trueskill?No plus, the ranks are dodgy i have NEVER ranked up i have only lost my rank which is ridiculous.

P.S. HORDE MODE IS THE BEST FEATURE IN THE GAME :D I LOVE IT

i thought that with the shotgun until last night. Its mainly lag causing it to not stop a chainsaw, jump back first and try again.

If you play against bots with no lag the shotgun it brutal, it creates a kind of cross shape on walls you shoot. i did well in an online game with it last night, i find blind firing through doors really effective.

i didnt like COD4s ranking up system because it just awarded you for playing a lot, not necessarily playing well. I played people who were prestige 10 and lvl 55 but they were rubbish. They got to the top rank by just over playing the game. Halo had the best ranking system, you should be able to go up and down ranks.

Yup, lag is what is killing the shotgun right now. Sometimes it's awesome, sometimes it's terrible.

I guess too many people are playing the game or something, because most of the time I find it too laggy.

it seems fine when the room is uk only. Even horde goes laggy if one american is in the room.

Epic did patch the first one a lot (anyone remember being able to tag grenades on people from 40 yards away?) and they did add a lot (new maps and gamemodes).

Im hoping this one gets the same treatment. I've already heard about a patch in the works to increase the charge time on the chainsaw so you have to rev it for a second before it will work, that will stop a lot of the chainsaw noobs i have to deal with on a daily basis.
