Mirrors Edge : Demo Reviews
Downloaded and played. This is an absolute gem. Might get a bit repetitive but it'll be worth it. Gonna pre-order this ASAP.
Is good :)
Quite short, but tutorial and a quick level give you a real feel of the game :)
There is a time trial but to play you need to preorder the game :/
Really tempting gameplay is really good :D
I keep replaying the training level without having to follow her - here's how you do it: once you finish the first tutorial runthrough with her, don't go anywhere near her, do a u-turn and run down the adjacent ramp and you're back at the start, then you're free to roam around the training level as you like - but don't fall - you'll spawn right towards the end of the training again as opposed to where you died.
Wicked demo! I love the fact that after the training you can roam around before the first mission. Took my xbox 360 a while to download it though, and just one question: does your xbox 360 download when it is turned off? Because before i turned mine off it said: 50% then when I turned it on a while later it said 63%, Weird or what?

I'm itching to download this, but...
I GOT RED RING OF DEATH BEFORE!
I'm letting it cool down for a couple of hours, hopefully it will work

I love it
I've played through it twice and took totally separate routes
Shows how diverse the levels are and how differently they can be played
It handles really well also
It's made me love the game even more

Yeah, there is a setting where it continues to download on low power after you turn it off.
Anyway, I played it this morning after being too knackered last night and am itching to play the real thing. Can't afford it so bunging it on my rental list.

From what i played, i loved it, thought it was amazing.
They pulled of this 1st person free running thing really well.

Well I haven't tried it and cba too, too many games out that are way more appealing (I have loads to play through now and coming soon) and more than likely better

i didnt think much of it either.
I would recommend Dead Space over this anyday, and i still have Farcry2 to get, but Gears2 coming this Friday there is no time and not enough money for everything. Mirrors Edge just isnt good enough to take my hard earned nuggets im afraid
Did anyone else think the look reminded them of a Valve game like HL2 or Portal?

It looked quite a lot like Portal to me.
I reckon the motion blur effects are similar.
I loved it though, but sadly not a keeper. Reckon I'd tire of it after completion.

Tried it, really didnt like it. It ends up being memory. In the sense that you simply have to remember wich buttons to push to clear a certain obstacle. and the paths are limited as the only objects you can interact with are the red ones. so you run around, see a red door and think "ah, i had to press LT to open that", and then theres a red plank with barbed wire on the other end: "ah, RB and LT". red wall: "RB LB RB" etc etc.
Youre also actively discouraged from engaging enemies, so its kinda like the first level of half-life 2 where you get shot at but cant do much in return, so you just run away.
oh well, guess it just really isnt my cup of tea. But i'll say this, EA is to be commended for making a new kind of game. Guess even they finally realised they cant get away with just re-releasing the same games every year.

Hmmm, seems like a bit of a side game like Portal. Cant imagine there being a great story and fairly repetitive. Wouldn't pay more than £20 for it, lets put it that way.
