I was wanting to know some information about fallout 3 as I think it looks good but I don't like turn based combat (which fallout 3 is meant to have) although I have heard you can choose whether to play turn based combat or free real time combat. And another thing: is falout 3 meant to be a horror game? Because I don't realy like horror games. If anyone knows about this game please post here. Thanks :s

Not meant to be horror, and Fallout lets players use a mix, or just one of the types of combat.
And the other isn't turnbased i don't think- its more like you pause time and choose a more accurate shot or something; ask Bingo :)

You can play it two ways, straight up action RPG with FPS controls. Or you can target specific parts of the enemy using the VATS system to cue up your shots (which is a lot easier, but you have limited shot slots which recharge). I played it and the VATS system is a lot easier, the enemies playing it like a FPS seem immune to the same amount of shots to take them down when using VATS.

i just finished the main quest, and although i loved the game, the ending just sucked balls..
the problem is, you have to choose wether to kill yourself, or some ally you barely even know by going into a room filled with radiation and activating a device. either way, its curtains after that. unlike oblivion where you can go on your merry way and explore the world after you did the main quest, the game just ends. so if you didnt make a save before that, youre screwed. lukily i did, but the thing that pissed me off the most, was the fact i had a supermutant party member, who was immune to radiation, and he didnt want to go in there because "he didnt want to interfere with my destiny...". now what kinda bull---- is that? just go in and make sure nobody dies, -----!

Soooo... anyone else recently get back into this? After a 5 month break (apparently, according to xbox.com) I won a Point Lookout code so I popped it in and was instantly immersed into it again. So I got all the other DLC and am STILL working my way through the main storyline and other side quests. I've done 59 hours 32 mins on it so far. Stupidly good value for a game that lasts for so long and will easily go another 50 hours.
Just brilliant.

Been returning to Fallout with every DLC release.
Shame I never waited for Broken Steel as I hit the level 20 cap before finishing the main quest and side quests, and this has meant that I played Operation Anchorage and The Pitt without gaining any XP. Damn.
Latest DLC is a tough bugger, glad I had some of the extra weaponary and armour picked up from earlier content though to cope with the tougher locals.
The game has been awesome though, so immersive and the extra content has alway brought varied visuals and gameplay. Shame there's only one more extra pack to come as I keep wanting Fallout to continue.

I suspect there might be some more packs in a few months and then stop when they announce the release date of New Vegas :D

I know there's at least one more coming - Mothership Zeta, I reckon it'll be during that I get my Level 30.
It was so good when they lifted the level cap, getting XP rocks!

Annnnnd I'm done. Fallout 3 is 100% completed, well achievement wise anyway.
92 hours and worth every penny of the £29.99 I paid for it.
Just got the Mothership Zeta DLC today and have to say I didn't like it at all, would've preferred more DLC on earth. It just didn't feel like Fallout up there, felt like average sci-fi shooter crap. Ah well, its over now :)

I got back into it a couple of months ago to get all the bobble heads, only to find I couldn't get one of them due to the place being caved in after the first time I visited - now annoyingly I have all but one of them :/
Bought the last DLC recently too, need to go finish that, but it didn't grab me so much. Great game though, one I wouldn't mind starting again and trying to go the good path, not stealing ammo and health.
I think I have about 80 hours odd on play time, but that's some way off my total 190 hours Oblivion time across characters.

My favourite piece of DLC was the one on the island - cannot remember the name..
All of the in-bred locals, with bad teeth and shotguns made me chuckle and it felt the most like an extension of the main game, with side missions and all.
Fallout 3 has been a joy to play. Want to do all of it again and this time go the bad karma route

Ah, Fallout 3. Many of my hour's have been wasted on this game...
I bought it Christmas time last year for £20 when Gamestation was doing these cheap deals and i've been hooked since then. Wasn't really a big fan of Oblivion and didn't have high hopes for it with the price...
As for the DLC, I thought the last one (Mothership Zeta) was a big let down. Bazz, it'll be "Point Lookout" what your on about. The whole "in-bred locals, with bad teeth and shotguns" gave me a good laugh.
I always played through with Bad Karma, purely because of the Megaton "incident". Going to have one last playthrough on the Good Karma route and pick off the last of the achievements, hopefully. Really good game, cannot wait for New Vegas. Hoping it has Casino's in...

I got back into it after seeing the GOTY adverts. Never really enjoyed it before, but now I see why everyone was raving about it. Not got any DLC so should I just get the GOTY instead of remortgaging my bedroom to download it all?

Get the GOTY edition, or even better borrow the 2nd disc from someone. All the DLCs on there and installs to your HDD.

if its naything like obliovion goty then it will have the same disk as the normal game and the dlc will be on an install disc

All but one of the DLCs is well worth the money, definitely expanding the game better than most of the initial Oblivion stuff - Bethesda learnt from Knights and Shivering Isles and made the Fallout 3 stuff add a fair number of hours to the game.
So yeah, go for the GOTY edition.

Just gotta find someone with a GOTY disk now and heaven awaits :)
