"We have shipped over a thousand controller dev kits to developers so that they can begin getting experience with the controller mechanics.
Asked whether or not Revolution's horsepower was insufficient, one development source said no. At first, we were discouraged that it would be less powerful than Xbox 360, but once we got everything working with the controller, our concerns faded, he explained.
Final, completely finished development kits are expected to be made widely available this June, according to sources we contacted.
Every studio insider we queried said that they believed Revolution could launch for under $200, and possibly as low as $150 - a figure that would amazingly put Nintendo's new console at a price point hundreds of dollars cheaper than any competitor. "
Selling cheap like that might be good for Nintendo, because it means a lot of people will be able to buy it for that kind of price.

I've always said, if the Revolution gets to that $100 price point that the Gamecube was able to hit, I'll hit that. This may very well be the first generation I own 2 consoles.

You wouldn't buy a Revolution for $100?
Dude, that's less than 2 360 games. For a whole new console. Come on, man. That thing could come packed in dead babies and used condoms, and it'd still be tempting.

LMAO!!
That's a beautiful line!
If the Rev hits at that kind of price you'd have to be mental to ignore it.

I'd get a Revolution up until a £200 launch price, because that's how good I think it'll be.

Yeah, although I love Nintendo, it probably would be a secondary console behind the 360. Naturally, I suppose, seeing as the 360 will more than likely be getting all the 3rd party titles whilst the Revolution won't.
I'm still 100% getting one, though. Nintendo = winners. :D

Revolution Dev. kit only $2000....might buy one myself!!! :p
"In an unprecedented move by Nintendo, game development studios who have purchased the company's development kits for making games on the upcoming Nintendo Revolution were reportedly charged the infinitesimal price of about $2000 per development kit. This is thousands of dollars cheaper than a Playstation Portable SDK, let alone a SDK for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. When it comes to making games on a video game system, a Software Development Kit is required by a studio interested in publishing games. The SDK allows for advanced system functions and access for the developers, in addition to information that will hasten the development process.
With jaw dropping news such as this, you can be assured that there will be a vast library of games on Nintendo's new console. When you are putting the official Nintendo SDK, or any other software development kit for a gaming console for that matter, at the low price of two thousand it is beyond a shadow of a doubt that a diverse style of new games will arise for that platform. In addition, the low SDK prices will prompt new design firms to jump into development for Nintendo's Revolution console to test the waters. We congratulate Nintendo on this move. It's going to be great to see what new developers have in store with the cost of Nintendo's development system now in an affordable price range."

Did you see this months Game Cube's Top Selling Games? Like 7 out of the Top 10 are first parties. Tell me how many third partie game right now are coming out on GC? I would give it couple. Nintendo is loosing third partie support because third parties know there is no chance competeing against all these mario games Nintendo keeps releasing. Thats no goodie new for Revolution.
