I've been thinking about buying the game i remember afrojoe got it and said it was fun, and i have 2 questions!

- How good is the wi-fi gaming?

-How is it about the registred friends, is it possible to play only against this or is it possible to play against other players too?

I need to use my DS only got mario 64 and i haven't touched it for almost a year!

Wi-Fi gaming is good. I've never had lag, and the only occasional problem is with snakers, who are difficult to compete against. They're very beatable, though.

The friend gaming is a good option as well, but not as good as in home console games, obviously. You can choose to go into a lobby called "Friends" in which you'll be pitted against people on your friend list only. The problem with this, though, is that you can't invite people of your choice to the game, and you don't actually know which friend it is you're about to play (the player only appears as a yellow flashing dot - it doesn't actually say who they are).

But yeah, I'd highly recommend it, because it's a fantastic game.

Yes, Wifi is a very good internet service. If you get a hold of it, it can be fun for you to use. Like afrojoe said as long as your own wireless connection is very good, you will rarely have any lag. It is also cool to be playing people around the world on it, and plus I think you can pictochat with other people which is kinda funny. Reggie Films Aime has recently said that they will be releasing a new voice chat feature for the DS which will allow people to talk over the wifi servers like Playstation and Xbox does with their online services.

Mario Kart DS is the reason why they even really did this. That game on wifi is really fun and like Afrojoe said it should be recommended to anyone.

thanks guys i think i will buy the game tomorrow then, i have to change plane twice if i fly on friday and that will be 5 hours total inside a airport. Almost all international airports in Europe have wi-fi in their terminals, that could be fun to test!

So if there's any of you with the game, send me your friend number. If you don't want to post it here send me a PM!

Yeah good Idea. I think it is quite odd that the best two games for the Nintendo DS of both years have been quite frankly ports from the past generations. Super Mario 64 was a great game, and with the addition of Wario, Luigi and Yoshi the game opened up a huge replay value. I just finished the entire game after a full year of play. And Mario Kart DS is really perfect with the Wifi capability, that is the reason why Wifi connected with Nintendo. So Mario Kart races can be raced by everybody.

It took me almost a year to finish mario 64 too!

For me I only played the mini games when I got bored. I unlocked them all, I think the whole thing with the rabbits was kinda stupid but the sparkling rabbits was kind of fun. Who though the DS version looked better than the N64 version?

I never completed Mario 64 originally, I then decided I'd play through it a few months ago, and I completed it 100% within two or three weeks.

Got to 149 stars on the DS version and despite spending about 5 or 6 hours looking for the last star, I just couldn't find it. :(

And yeah, the DS version looked better for me. My N64 was being played on a cruddy TV, though. :D

I thought the DS version did, maybe it is because its on such a small screen you get an overall better look to it. Are you referring to the Sparkling Bunnies star? Are you sure you got that one because that was the last one I got I think, also watch out because 3 random toads in the castle all together who just give out a free star so you should check that out too.

Grrrr seeing the title of this thread got me angry. My brother got Mario Kart DS for Christmas but he isn't letting me play it due to the fact there is only one profile (his) on the game and me playing it would mean beating his high scores and stuff and he don't want that.

Looks like I will have to live without. :(

Oh man, that sucks. The game is really great. Its fun, addictive and probably the best game besides GTA: Liberty City Stories ever to appear on a handheld. The online service is great too for it. Hopefully the next console version of GTA will have a LIVE version for Playstation HUB.

It's definitely not the Toads, because I got all of them fairly early on, because I knew where they were.

The bunnies one, though... hmmm, I can't think if I got that or not. When I can be bothered playing the game again I'll try and remember this post. :D

The sparkling bunnies aren't hard to find. Just run around the castle where you usually see the normal colored bunnies. You only see them as Mario though, so check that out. It really is a stupid burden, and was a bad star addition to the N64 additon.
