View Full Version : Favorite Xbox Live Arcade game?
I have a feeling this is going to be a huge landslide for one particular game but lets do it anyway. Im going to go with the obvious favorite going and that is Geometry Wars. Damn the game is so fast paced and so fun. It can get hard and addicitng but like I said before, its just asteroids on crack. The graphics aren't bad on it either for a game that is suppose to be like an 80s arcade game. Im hoping they will release Xbox Live Arcade games based around a particular game like Masterchief Pinball or something like that. Or Masterchief Home Run Derby or anything Masterchief-based. :party:

Yeah, I'd probably say Geometry Wars as well.
Bankshot Billiards is good as well, but due to its crapness online (I've still not completed an online match, and have tried 7 times now), and general lack of excitement, it's more relaxing than anything else.
So yeah, GW, just as you expected. :)

Haha, I actually forgot about Hexic. Dunno why, but I just wasn't classing it as an arcade game. :D
Yeah, it's good, and I've had many fun hours on it, but I think I'd put it on even terms with Bankshot Billiards 2, right behind Geometry Wars.
I'm expecting Street Fighter 2 to be my new favourite once it is released. Oh yes.
Wow alot of people chose Hexic HD. Maybe I should go buy that game. I heard it was fun but I am too hooked on Geometry Wars, I can honestly say it is almost as fun as an Xbox 360 game and definatley more fun than the game Gun (I hated that game so much). But yeah, I will definatley look into Hexic, you guys liked it so much so I usually go with the crowd when it comes to liking something.

You shouldn't have to buy Hexic. It was automatically available on my hard-drive when I bought the console.

No I got the premium console. I didn't check though if the game came with it. Ill go check as soon as I hop on LIVE tonight. I hope its good, since you guys have been telling me all about it. If not, I can spend 6 dollars on a quick Arcade game, I have more than enough money I have been saving up from odd jobs and DJ gigs. I just dont really know the concept of the game or what it is about. Could someone help me a little and explain it a little more in detail?

It's a really difficult game to explain.
It's really like Tetris, in a way, but much more complex in the way pieces are deleted and how you move them about the screen.
You should definitely have it on your hard drive, as I think it comes free with all 360's. So if you do have it, get playing it. It might be difficult to understand at first, but after a while you'll know exactly what you're doing, and understanding helps you realise just how clever the concept actually is.
So is it exactly like Tetris extreme like Geometry Wars did with Asteroids because Im a huge fan of Tetris and in online arcades I usually can score over 100,000 when Im bored and/or grounded. Yeah so I will check my hard drive as soon as I turn on my Xbox 360 tonight. Any other games you guys suggest to me?

Arcade games? Nah, not yet.
Geometry Wars is probably the only one really worth buying. Bankshot Billiards is good, but it has some real weak points, and none of the others have really impressed me all that much. Bejeweled and Zuma seem to have got quite a lot of fans, though.
Street Fighter 2 is out soon though. That's a definite!
Oh Alright, I mean I would like to save up so I can add a 6th game to the game collection Im getting this next wave so I guess I would not want to waste any money on a so-so arcade game.
Yeah I guess I really got lucky. Geometry Wars came with my LIVE Box, and it is alot of fun.
Hixic HD; it's the only one I have. :)
Yeah would you look at it was on my Hard Drive. I guess I never saw it but it was right below Geometry Wars. It was an ok game, I thought it was nothing like Tetris and to me, unlike Geomtry got boring after a while.

I'd advise you stick with it, matey. It's not Geometry Wars, granted, but it's still a pretty damn addictive game.
And you didn't find it slightly similar to Tetris? Meh, I did. :D

I dont think Im going to buy anymore Xbox Live Arcade Games. I think Im going to wait until the cold summer where very few games are coming out. Can't wait to see what new ones come out, I thought there was a Halo oriented one coming out in a couple of weeks. I think Im probably wrong but if there is one please inform me. Something about the Xbox LIVE Arcade doesnt appeal to me except gaining gamerscore points.

Street Fighter is the iconic, set-the-standard, mother load, grand-daddy of fighting games. Xbox Live is getting (has?) Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting.

Oh that looks great. I wasn't expecting a game like that ever to show its face on the Xbox Live Arcade. It looks great, hope it looks good and comes off good whenever it comes out. Can you plan against other people across Xbox LIVE?

Street Fighter 2 Turbo, in my opinion, is the best fighting game ever created.
It still outclasses modern day Tekkens. :D

Strret fighters all a bit retro too me! I prefer colourful hexagons and spaceships!
You think its the best game over Halo or over Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Im sorry I think you are over estimating this game..nothing is as good as Zelda or Halo in my personal opinion (maybe Call of Duty 2-absolutley love it)
