View Full Version : Who here really believe that the Revolution will be the name of it?
I am beginning to have doubt about the name of the Nintendo Revolution. I did believe at one point that this will be the name of the Console, but if you look at it you will see a Revo-logo in the E3 presentation of the console and no logo in the Tokyo Game Show presentation-which showed the revo's controller which shocked the gaming world. I heard rumors that it was going to be Nintendo RS or RV or something with two letters like they did with the Nintendo DS, but still no one is sure what the two letters will stand for. Why couldn't Nintendo just announce the console as The Revolution or something instead of make us ponder about it all the way until the next e3.
I think Nitendo should keep the name, after all this time with PR about it!

Yup, I think they'll be keeping the name.
This isn't like the "Dolphin" codename for the Gamecube, which was eventually dropped. The name "Revolution" has been advertised a fair amount, and it'll be surprising if they just suddenly change it for no reason... after all, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the name.
At least it has a bit of innovation about it - well, compared to the "PS3" anyway. :D

I think it will stay the same like the DS. It is a revolution after all:p

I think they should keep it too...the name is pretty apt what with the new controller of weirdness and the downloadable back catalogue amongst other things.
:)
Just a codename. Some interview with that american nintendo guy said that they will be changing it. I liked Xenon tbh
Revolution does sound nice. I would like a console to be named something more than two letter. I think names like DS are stupid to be honest. If they do a RE name or an RS I will be dissapointed. The name Revolution fits the console perfectly as the next revolution of gaming.

Xenon was the original suggestion for the Xbox 360's name. :D
Your going to comeback with something smutty so I will post again. I said "I liked Xenon tbh" because I think codenames are always better than the final name. Xenon - Xbox 360. Xenon FTW!!

The way you posted it kind of hints that you'd like it as the Revolution's name. :)
Yeh I know. But its me. Tob3z. You should know I know my stuff when it comes to gaming :p

Well the DS was its codename but they kept it so they probably will keep it. I think its a good name sort of reminds everyone that this console will have remotes as controllers!
Wasnt Dolphin for the Dreamcast?
Or am I lost?

Xenon is Microsoft's name for the CPU. Odd that it used to be a codename for the console itself.
Yeah I remember the whole "Xbox 2" rumors never ending. Man, I actually beleived Xenon..I still think 360 was the most random name ever in the history of consoles.

But i like it as it stands out as a name you will remember! It is a metaphor for how 360 will rule the world starting in the atlantic and then spreading a lovely circle which will engulf the world and we shall just play 360 all day! Shame i think im already in the circle!
Xbox 360 is just too much of an organic name. I would like something like Xbox 2 or Xbox White or something thst truly meant something and described the damn Xbox 360. I mean what does 360 really mean? It actually is suppose to be a metaphor of how Microsoft is trying to show you the full gaming experience (if that is right) and that is just plan stupid sounding. Thank you Nintendo for going out for a name that means some with the DS (dual screen) or Revolution (different style of game play). Boo to Microsoft for naming my favrite console Xbox 360.

I'm not sure exactly what it means.. I do know that '360' rolls off the tongue better than "PlayStation' or 'PS3', and maybe even 'Xbox' in general.
Oh, plus. The phone calls I made after picking my Premium box: "Dude, I have 2 questions for you, and they both have the same answer. How many degrees are in a circle, and what are we playing for the next 30 hours straight?"
Huh? Whats up with your phone calls? :/
