First Impressions

Well after a quick preorder from play.com Sunday night, I had the B:BC demo downloaded by about 6pm yesterday, and after a good 5 hours of playing through the singleplayer and multiplayer modes available.. I can safely say that it is definately worth the wait.

Singleplayer Mode - Easy/Normal - First Mission of the game

What can I say, this game pushes you straight into a vehicle and sends you out to blow up some bad guys, and it's fun... and I mean it's really ----ing fun. The graphics are awesome, the sound is astonishing, and the gameplay is extremely intense.
I won't spoil it for you, but it is awesome, and I cannot wait to take on the full campaign and explore the sandbox world and story.

(Online) Multiplayer Mode - Gold Rush on Oasis Map

At first I was apprehensive, I jumped into multiplayer before single to join a friend in a game, and what can I say... I got owned. But after a few hours I built up some strategy, ran through all 5 player types; Assault, Recon, Support, Stealth and Destruction and found what fitted best. It just got better from there, getting to know the map, the vehicles, the game type. 5 hours seemed to shoot by.

A brilliant asset of this demo is that there is actually a ranking system for it, and if you reach level 4, you unlock a gun for the real disc game, I've heard it's just the Uzi... but still. Aswell as this, each time you rank up you get unlock 'credits', which can be spent on guns or things such as laser designators, tank land mines, air strikes.

This game looks to be my prominant online FPS for a good while, I can see myself getting very addicted to it. Be under no illusions.. it IS as explosive and intense as you've seen, and it's seriously fun.


.. Oh and one more thing, the sountrack for this game is brilliant.

hows it compare to cod 4s stupidly addictive ranking systerm ive done up to 55 on pc and 360 now

im not really intrested in the single player for this game its all about the multiplayer so heres some questions

1 is the upfrade systerm the same as battlefiled 2142 (you get standard kit and then you earn points to spend on new gear rather than just unlocking or is ita mixture of both point spending and unlocks)

2 how many players online

3 is it lag free ie dedicated servers

4 can you customise you online player like on rainbow six depth (camo body armour)

5 is thier class limits we dont want to see 50 snipers on a map

im going to find out in a few days when i dl the demo either way im looking forward to been suprised as the last battlfield game on consolds was a big disapointment to me.

1: Everytime you go to the next rank you get 1 "unlock credit"

2: 12 vs. 12 so 24 total.

3: Well Ive been playing for a couple days now..since in US it came out earlier than where you guys are at. Ive only experience lag once and it was for like 10 secs.

4: Nope.

5:Im pretty sure there are no class limits.

I was in the beta i hope they have fixed the bugs, the game is good and i am hopying to get it soon (i hope it has a party system this time)

Personally this game is a major let down.

Despite the Beta Flourishing, it lacks good old Battlefield 2 Fun.

*Squad System = If anyone here has played BF2 on PC, you will know the true meaning of a squad system. This game has an automatic one, in which you are placed into a team mates squad, you will have no choice. No time to meet with friends and create a squad.

*Amount of Players= 24? WTF? When i hear the word Battlefield i expect 64! At least 32.

*Vehicles= Where are the jets? The array of choppers?



The destruction in game is pretty decent, and the graphics are well polished. But gameplay isnt a strong point in it, unfortunately i wont be buying this game :/

i take it you get squad leaders and can spawn on them like bf2 PC and if theirs squad leaders theirs a commander

You can actually squad up with friends in the game. If you dont know how to do this go to custom game and hit (x) and a friends list should come up. what i didnt like is the fact that you can only invite 3 other friends. The other thing i dislike about the game is the fact that you can't hear anyone else on the team besides your squad.

yeah it was great

i could play commander real well i would be well out the action directing my squad leaders to take objectives launching airstrikes and droping in supplys for the lads defending mind you i did always prefer to play as a soldier but if your team dont have a comander and the other oen has then your going to loose

Only played the Multiplayer game it is good but not amazing, first thing I did was blow a hole in a wall pretty good physics, visuals are pretty good this game will be very good if you play with the same people and work out good tactics on the maps.

Feels different to Call Duty 4 which is good, bit slower pace and the guns look good bring on thursday when everyone else can download the demo.

clunky controls = bad game to me ill have to do some tweeking so i can get it better ill give the demo some propper game time but buy the looks of it im not getting this game

id rather buy civiliation witch is civ 4 with consold controls

Awful.

Laggy, stupid controls, and the sniper scope is ridiculously short-range considering the size of the maps.

I played the singe player a few times this afternoon and kinda liked it. The game is slower than COD4 but the graphics, sound and physics seem spot on. Will give multiplayer a go tomorrow, before deciding on a purchase.

I just ordered Grid on the 360 so will have that to play on Tuesday.

I'm hoping its just the fact I cleared the demos 4 ranks pretty easily andquickly, aswell as being bored of the map... but I actually haven't had the desire to play the demo anymore

I can understand where people are coming from now, I started this thread to pose my first impressions, but after a while.. I'm not sure. I haven't cancelled my pre-order, because I still want to play out the singleplayer, and I still know that the multiplayer is fun, even as a 'party game' - if not a serious strategic/tactical fps with a respectable ranking system and gameplay mechanics.

On a side note... why the ---- are the helicopters so incredibly hard to maneuver! :@
