Hi,
During loading I've noticed my controller light on the actual console changes from position 1, to 2. As if it is now controller 2. This has only happened a few times, once in Quake 4, and once in NFS Most Wanted. Mainly when loading is happening. If i reconnect the controller, like rsync it, it fixes it. This isn't the horizontal and vertical position issue, since that works fine when i change the position.
Any help would be appreciated. I guess what I'm looking for is someonelse else that has seen this problem, so I know it's not just me. And also in case it leads to any other issues anyone has experienced.
Thanks!
Are you using Wireless, or wired?

Wireless controller!
it can be just a small system fail when loading, the controller is starting and the 360 is starting at the same time, if it's a normal electronic fail!

Turn all controllers off.Press the connected button on your 360.Turn the controller you will use on and press the connect button on the top. That should just confirm its PLAYER 1 CONTROLLER:)

Hey guys, quick question. Those of you who are experiencing the lights on your console switch, are your 360s in the vertical position?
I just read something on the official boards that indicate sometimes the 360 can't properly detect what position it's in. If you'll notice, the first player quadrant of the console's ring of light, when the box is horizontal, is the second player quandrant when the box is vertical. Thus, if the 360 suddenly thinks it's in a horizontal position, it will light the "new" first player quadrant, which, if the box is actually vertical, appears as the second.

Then that sounds like a problem with the mercury switch... as thats the gubbins in telling which way it is positioned. Should not effect the controller though I wouldn't have thought ?

The OP is talking about lights on the actual console changing.

Oh yeah my bad
Well my Mercury Switch failure seems valid then :D
No guys, its a sign that the power is fading. When the colors start switching around like that I soon realized that this was because the power of my controller was fading. Plugged it into the play n charge kit and I was good to go. It is not something to kill yourself or go buy a new controller. Just charge it up a bit and I ensure you it will go away.

Yeah steve but hes talking about the light on the console not the controller..
Oh, I was looking at the title. Usually when it says Controller Lights Changing that means the actual ring of light on the controller. Im sorry for the confusion. Yeah Im not to sure what that is, if the lights keep changing around that is the sign of a glitch, and that is not something you want for your 360. I suggest calling up or look at the Warranty card you filled out (please tell me you filled it out!) and see if it is a major problem and if it is get it fixed somehow.

A whole bunch of people are going to ask "what warranty card?"
Unless you mean the card Microsoft put in which lets you pay for extra warranty.
