Bought Madden off eBay yesterday, and it came this morning.

Only on the front it had in big writing, "PROMOTIONAL COPY - NOT FOR RESALE", and on the back where the bar-code goes?? Also, it came with no instructions.

So, what does promo game actually mean, becasue it lost me?

Im leaving Negative Feedback for it aswell seens as he never said it didn't have instructions and was a Promo copy.

I believe thats what MICROSOFT give to companies to try out the games. How much did you flog out for it???

Could be a pre-sale version. These are ususally given to Gamestesters etc to get bugs out. At work we randomly get these things sent to us, mainly to demo them in the shop. Games that work but no manuals etc, mainly to stop people selling them on ebay or wrecking the street date. (Most game companies are very strict with street dates. Tesco got their asses spanked a while back for releasing a game too early :) )

Either that or it may have been a bundle copy but the chances of that are slim...slim to none. If the game works great! but it does mean you cannot sell it again if you get bored and if it goes faulty you cannot replace it. I would get onto ebay and the seller personally.

It's the kind of copy they send to magazines and stuff to review. Not a full version, but pretty much.

The main negative is that you won't be able to sell it on for as much as you would with a real version. :(

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e377/backin-strachan/81_1_b.jpg I would imagine it looked like this and personally I wouldnt like this across my games unless I knew they were going to have the writing across them.

don't you need a modified console to run this kind of games?

If I would you I would send it back!

(If you can do that on eBay?)

Oh no, its the full game, definately, got like 10 of 11 achievements on it.

But liek someone said when I re-sell it on eBay I will put about it and show pics, and put at a lower price too.

But its all ok...don't really need instructions anyway.

The seller is called firstsalegoods...only has a feedback rating of like 19 though.

I had to leave positive feedback in the end as I share the account with my Dad, and he said he didn't want that guy leaving us Negative/Neutral, and I got the game which is what I want. Ah well. :)

Yeah, there have been a couple of items that I've bought in the past which haven't lived up to their descriptions, but I've got 100% record I don't want to break. :D

I bought a golf club which retails about £150, so when the description said 9/10 excellent condition for £65, I though I had a bargin:D

Obviously not I would say 5 or 6/10. It hits well but doesnt look good.:(

hmmm, surely if it's a tester or promotional copy, though, it might have some unfixed bugs and glitches in it? sounds wierd to me, although it might be worth something in the future (don't ask why! Just a thought). :D

Looks like a plain old review copy to me, they just get sent to various magazines/websites so they can get their reviews done before release. The massive label across the front is to try and stop people selling them. If you wanted to re-sell you might recoup the cost from lack of manual in novelty value.
