Help me go to italy!! Excuse neede, so be devious!!

So, Im going to italy soon with a mate whos having a gastric bypass. We are going over a weekend, off friday back monday. Anyway, my other friend at work wants to come too. Unfortunately, this friend and myself both work in the same dept and arent allowed off at the same time. Our boss has said if we get someone to cover for us, he'll allow us off together. We have found someone to cover friday and half of the monday, leaving us uncovered for 4 hours. Our ---- of a boss is still refusing until we get cover for the full day...anyone got any ideas how we can get around this? Its well winding me up. It would be sooo great if we could both go!:'(

i know this sounds dodgy, but you could get chummy with him outside of work just for long enough for him to slacken the rules for you then after your italy trip, just ...stop lol

Haha, nah, I could'nt do the chummy thing...he is a right ----! Hes one of those people that relishes the fact he can get away with ---- like this. As for pretending to be ill...yep, thats what I should have done originally. Its a bit late for that, it would be too obvious now. Thats the price you pay for honesty, innit?!! If we dont end up going im gonna be asking for revenge ideas........

Haha, like it. Well, I think we have managed to pull it off...one of the engineers at work has agreed to cover my hours. My boss says he wants to discuss it with him, but we're 80% there. Woot! Thanks for the suggestions, all.
