Well i have been scouring round the internet for the best broadband deals around. I am with tesco broadband atm which is one of the biggest mistakes i have ever made!(Pricing+Speed=Terrible £25 a month for 2MB!) Anyway the contract has finished now and im looking for a good broadband provider that has speeds of 16MB/ps and with a price of no higher than 20 quid. So i was just wondering if you had any good internet providers that i could migrate to. I unfortunatly cant get the amazing deal that is o2 broadband but atm im looking at sky broadband and the utility warehouse broadband. Thanks

100% go for Be broadband, linky (https://www.bethere.co.uk/homebroadband.do) - that's the 24 meg down and 1.5 up link, you can also pay and extra 4 quid and get Be Pro which is 24 meg down and 2.5 up. I have the 24 meg down 1.5 up and have absolutely no problems with it, it's amazing. And at 18 quid it's ----ing amazing, I obviously don't get the full 24mb down, but get arouuund 19mb topping at around 1,900 kbps on downloads from good servers :D They also text me when they are going to take the payment out of my bank and you don't get any annoying emails from them :p

And at speeds of up to 24meg, they're the fastest and cheapest for the price in the UK :)

Oh and there is no contract, you can cancel your contract in a month :p Which is great if yer a student, like me :)

*cough if you go for them, you can refer me and get a free month for you and I :)*

Unfortunately for me Be aren't in my area yet otherwise I probably would have them instead of BT. That's the only thing with other ISP's I have a limited few to choose from simply because they aren't in my area yet. Bloody annoying but that's life!

Another vote for BE here. I have been with them for a while now, service has been excellent and you just cannot beat the price. £14 per month for a truly unlimited 8 meg connection.

Why not pay the extra 4 quid and get up to 24 meg?

Not everyones line can handle the 24 meg. The state UPTO 24 meg, most people will get nowhere near it.

I was on the 24 meg package (when it was £24 per month) and was lucky if I got just over 8. So they allowed me to downgrade to the lower package at £14 per month which is ideal. I still get great speed (movies in 20 mins, albums in under 1 min) but dont have to pay a premium for a service I was never likely to achieve.
