man I'm so pissed of right now,let me explain, The Major League baseball team that plays here in Anaheim, the Angels well they were called the Anaheim Angels but in January 2005 the new owner decided to change the name to The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and most sports networks like ESPN just called them Los Angeles Angels and the Angels don't even play it in LA infact LA is about a 1 hour drive from Anaheim. So the City of Anaheim took them to court claiming for a breach of contract since the city help fund the stadium that they play in. But today the jury voted 9-3 in favor of the Angels so the name will stay Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim even though the city is set to lose over 300 Million dollars because of it. BS.

LA needs its teams, so it just steals other ones.
I bet they want the Raiders back as well.

But how could the Angels betray there fans?! I mean we were the ones who through all of the losings seasons we were the ones who supported them not LA. I have lost alot of respect to the Angels Franchise money loving scum bags there no longer the underdogs who never got any respect or recognition they were the face of Anaheim.

Yep, well sadly that's sport.
It's so goddamn money-driven and teams really don't give a crap about how much the fans love them. I don't know a sport that isn't like this.

Why is this going to cost the city $300 million?

They are set to lose 373 Million over the course of the agreement through 2029 because Anaheim isnt in the Title, I presume it has to do with the fact that "Anaheim" wont be mentioned during Games which lowers awerness wich then drops tourism.

But.. Don't you still have to go to Anaheim to see the team?
Lowers awareness of what? The team, or that Anaheim exists?

That Anaheim exist, during the playoffs they were refered to as the Los Angeles Angels so the city of Anaheim was not mentioned.

It'll be to do with merchandising as well, I'd assume.
This is just sad, I honestly think this is more of a disgrasce then the Jets and Giants playing in New Jersey and both being named New York Teams, yeah ok. It makes no sense why a city who hosts the stadium, pays for it, takes care of and supports it doesn't get its own name in the picture. I mean how many people from LA really root for the Angels anyway? I think they want a football team rather than stealing another baseball team from a fanbase who loved them so much! When it comes down to it your team is still from BROOKLYN You Dirty Dodger Stealing Los Angeles Jerks!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I get mad when I think of Los Angeles and Baseball...
