If it came out on the box(X) it would have came out with the PS2 version...obviously not so I would reccomend the GC with some fantastic titles.RESI 4 one of them(1 of 100;))

The gamecube shouldnt need either, an 18" portable will cut it with the GAMECUBE :

Anything using composite, RGB etc. on a hi-res LCD looks pretty crappy.
Anyway back to the GC....yes you should buy one! If you want brand new then Toys R Us seem pretty desperate to get rid of their stock £50 gets you a brand new Cube plus Mario Kart Double Dash!
Other than that second hand will be £30-40 and maybe £20 for the game but you may get a bargain if you look for private sellers.

The TV is almost the same as mine..not too sure on the slight differences as mine has Freeview and HDMI..yours has no Freeview(maybe?) and DVI but other than that I dunno.
Tv on it looks ok, Cable TV on it looks pretty good for the most part, not tried my Cube yet but the Xbox looks pretty pants..very soft picture on RGB or Component (Component will be due to me not using the HI-Def hack). The reason I bought the TV is for the 360 which is absolutely stunning on it!!
With regards to your Cube lead, if you have any N64 leads hanging around they'll work on it. S-Video may or may not work...I heard it was disabled for European Cubes but have seen S-Video cables on sale so dunno (I could test it with my N64 leads but I'm too lazy to find them). Component on Cube I doubt wil work either as (again) it was disabled for Europe..almost certain the digital out socket on the back of the Cube does jock all....disappointing as I wanted VGA out :(

ill get me a scart cable ive seen them here http://shop.game.net/ and they cost like 3 pound as to spending nearly 60 pound just to play resi 4 totally worth it im up to the lake but the picture quality is naff so im savign it for my lcdtv and scart cable.
the tv, it has no freeveiw tunner but i dont need one aparently it has dvi and vga connectors im basicly going to use it as a monitor for playing media off my pc and for my 360, resident evil is somthing i have to get out my systerm before im totally addicted to my 360 which isnt far off. do you have the model with the silver botom i think they are newer than the one im getting but as long as it get my 360 up in high definition im not fussed.

Once you've completed Resident Evil 4 and on the lookout for some more titles, one title I highly recommend is Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem - a great game by Silicon Knights.

Or you could wait for the PC version to appear in the not so distant future.

LOL! It was supposed to be released on PC in March, now it's not due until December. But, yeh it's probably too late now, but I'd get the PC version if you don't want to buy a GameCube.
