As much as I despise EA I'm still going to buy Madden 07 why because playing virtual football is fun. Anyway who is getting it and what features would you like to see?

Here is my wish list
wide recievers who catch the ball
offenceive line who can block
better presentaion, with a halftime show and post game interviews
the ability to challenge a call
make the Superbowl special instead of making it like its just another game.
bring back owners mode
improve the inside running game
improve the scouting processes
make the the NFL Draft more of an Event
cornerbacks who can cover
improve anamations
fix all of the bugs
bring back a new and improved superstar mode
make playoff games feel like playoff games


Thats all I can think of at the moment.

Fantasy Drafts - I get bored of playing with the same teams over and over again, and need to spice up the squads by starting a Franchise with a team which I can develop from the beginning.
Multiplayer Franchises - I used to always do joint Franchises with mates, and now I can't because for some reason they decided to remove the option.
Challenging plays - why oh why they took this out I'll never know. A great option.
Owner Mode - the ability to set prices in the stadium, move your team to another city or simply hire your own coaches was just so much better than the "all teams will stay the same forever" system they put in for 2006. Rubbish.
Madden and Michaels - EA Sports, are you stupid? Why the hell did you replace the most prestigious commentating team there has ever been with some crap radio commentator?
Better commentary in general. Even Madden and Michaels couldn't have rescued the godddamn awful script they used for 2006.
Rookie Scouting system - the whole point in the draft is to get players you want... what's the point if you can't scout for them?
Draft Speed - it's not quick enough. Even at the fastest speed, you have to sit and watch the other teams make their selections. In 2005 you could just keep skipping to your pick.
Mini-Camp - both in Franchise mode and from the Main Menu, I really can't see why they removed Mini-Camp. It allowed you to develop your players in Franchise, and enjoy yourself when you weren't playing competitive matches. Why the hell did they take it out?


All this and I've not even come to how bad some of the on-field stuff is....

It's going to take a helluva lot of upgrading to make 2007 the game 2004 and 2005 were.

i've tried the 06 demo and i even won, a game with a 70 yards touchdown how i did it don't ask, lucky i think.

They did not remove the features. They did not had time to make all these features, because of the launch and that they started the whole game from scrap.

Well, why do they have to get a game out exactly on launch date if they know that as a result the game is going to be a steaming pile of crud?

Even if they didn't remove stuff (which they did really), it's just as bad completely rushing a game just to make money out of the millions of people they know will buy it. There's no alternative in the NFL gaming market any more, and EA can continue to churn out any old guff. Which I think they'll gladly do.

Madden 2006 was shockingly bad, and if 2007 turns out the same, I'll hate this company even more.

Just watch, they'll bring back Owners Mode in 2008, claiming it to be an "OMG NEW AMAZING INCLUSION!!!!11!", when really it's just something that they took out just for the sake of being able to put it in so that they can avoid actually coming up with good, new ideas.

I totally agree with both killer 57 and AfroJoe The game looks gr8 but the running backs seem to sloow at times and the refs dont call that many penalty's plus Y IN THE HELL did they take out play challenging thats like the whole point of the game.

Badly in need of a decent American football game. Sold Madden 06 because it was just totally lacking any depth. Now that we're playing next gen games, developers should be trying to bring the best experience ever. Unfortunatly, the game industry is plagued by lazy, money grabbing gits who have no passion for games and are just in it for the money.

EA sports titles just seem to constantly lack any atmosphere or reward. Year after year I play Madden games - and not once have I felt like I'm playing in the Superbowl or Playoffs. Then you have Fifa, where you play through a long season and get a glory moment with a trophy that lasts all of about 5 seconds (usually a team picture moment).

Oh well, fingers crossed that EA actually feel obliged to give us something remotely worth the money for the next game.

Yeah, Madden 06 was a pile of mince as far as depth goes. It had pretty much nothing. Even online was crap as it lagged like hell even when I was playing you, Redneck. Playing Americans was just killer, though - I could barely move.

Oh, and I thought Alexander wasn't going to do the front cover, due to him being "superstitious"? Meh, money talks, eh? :D

I wanna see some proper crunching tackles too. ;) It would be good to see a player's weight, etc be a factor in matches too. If you're running a large guy, it would be great to impose him on the opposition - smashing through lighter players. That could add depth in itself as players will have to really be aware of the various threats. It would give games more variety as well.

Anyway, enough fantasy, this is an EA game. So expect a roster update and if we're lucky, we'll be able to challenge plays. Oh, and the helmets will be shinier than ever !!! Hip hop tracks being added are yet to be picked...

I agree on the players weight being a factor, make for some realistic moments, like the Bus running over some poor cornerback, while Ray Lewis kills Santana Moss in a monster tackle.

You could use light players to try and cling on to the bigger players for a moment and slow them down so they can team up to bring him down and even give a vital second or two for the bigger defenders to run in.

Here is a quick rundown as to what has been announced for Madden 2007:

Run To Daylight
A new mode in which you can contole a blocker. You can select which offensive player you will be before th ball is snaped, be it Center, Fullback, Tackles and even a Wide Reciever. Playing as a blocker, you have different blocks assigned to the right analog stick. Press up to try and pancake the defender. Press down to cut block. Press right or left to try and spin the defender out of the hole.

Highlight Stick This one I have been waiting for a long time. No longer will you see small Running Backs like Warric Dunn and Tiki Barber running over guys, now with the highlight stick, you can evade players with some sick mover.

New Mini-Camp
This isnt the old Mini-Cap we are used to, this is a real living breathing practise field. You will see guys Benchpressing in one area, while guys running a the 40yrd dash in another.The cameras and look are like nothing you've seen from Madden in the past. When running the 40 (alternate pressing the right and left sticks down), you'll see the player running with a PIP window showing you his facial expressions as he motors.In the bench press, you're simultaneously pressing the sticks up and down to mimic arm movements, while slamming on the bumpers in between reps for added strength and stamina.During the season, you'll even use these Mini-Camp games to help rehab your players in order to get them back on the field after an injury. There is a risk however, by pushing your guys harder to rehad them quicker, you are risking causing more damage.

Madden Gamer Level
I'm not sure about this one, it sounds alot like Crib points like in NFL 2K5. You earn points by gaining yards, scoring touchdowns etc. You use the points to unlocke Hall of Fame Players.When online, you're opponents will be able to see your Madden Gamer Level, and you'll even be able to wager rewards against opponents as you try to earn enough points to land yourself in the NFL Hall of Fame.

Also it mentions stuff about the future and how EA still hasnt revealed everything about the game etc etc.

The mini-camp is good news. I was so pished off when they removed it from 06.

Hopefully this new one will be even better than the mini-camps in the previous games as well, and it sounds like they could be.

Create a Stadium was a good feature in the past Madden games, although there weren't really all that many options. I managed to create the Raiders this super-cool dome thing when I moved them to Mexico City, though.

Well its time to once again Revive this Thread, So far I read on IGN that they will include the SuperStar Mode in the Next-Gen Version in Madden, its cool news, even though I'm not to fond of the idea in the first place. Some Improvements are that you will actually play with your SuperStar instead of just playing a regular game.

Also I've got some good hopes for the Achievements, the NCAA Football game A.K.A Pre-Madden game, has really cool and lengthy Achievements;

I was hugely dissappointed with the Vanilla Madden that was 06 hopefully all these "NEW" features for 07 will give the game that depth i was hoping for.

As an offensive lineman myself i love the sound of this run for daylight thingy, i'll actually be ablr to play as an o-line man and be able to block properly, nothing i enjoy more than cut blocking some poor d-lineman... and now i can do it in game....

Other than that i want EA to release NCAA 07 in the UK, there are more than enough college football fans in this country to warrent a release yet it just never happens, when am i gonna get to play as my beloved Hurricanes...?

If I get Madden 07 then it will be purely because I am a achievement and want to bump up my gamerscore. I'm pleased to see the achievements have been expanded a lot to make for more challenging gameplay. Having lots of small achievements will help me explore the game a hell of a lot more, and maybe even enjoy the experience (certainly didn't with Madden 06).

Done reading the Review, They gave it a score of 8.5, or "Great"

From reading it, Here is a basic rundown of the Pro's and Con's from the Review-

Pro's

- Super Star Mode is as fun as ever, Playing different positions is loads of fun and adds to the lasting appeal of the game.

- Run to Daylight Mode is very addictive, as you will play as a Full Back and knock a poor wide out on his ass.

- The new Highlight Stick adds a new dimension to the running game with acrobatic jukes and spins.

- The Graphics are improved from Madden 06, with smother animations and player models.

- 3D field is worn out during the game, adding to the realism

Con's

- Lags like hell online

- No Fantasy Draft

- No Post-Game Celebration after winning the SuperBowl

- Radio Announcers are still in place, and still suck

- Flawed Fatigue Icons, Will need a Patch.

- No Owner's Mode

Well, I'm really disappointed with the 3rd Flaw, I mean,damn, there is NOTHING when you win the Super Bowl, nothing, zip, nada, not even a Gatorade shower.

Well, actually, I'll probably get less lag playing them than I would playing someone like you, who lives in the UK.

It might seem strange, but it's due to the servers being based soley in America. Which means that while only one of our connections would be having to make a long trip if I was playing Steve or Killer, if I was playing someone like you who is based over here, BOTH of our connections would be having to go all the way to the States and back, thus making it even slower.

Basically, if you live in the UK, you're pretty much screwed whoever you play. :(

i think when you push the right thumbstick towards say an opposition player and hit them it proves to be a prety tough tackle

mwhahaha Sean was 2 and 0 on me then last night I whooped him.... game was 32-6 to moi when he had to leave ohhhh yeah.

Then I played a friend and by god it was close.. we did Eagles (me) vs Cowboys as a recreation of Sundays match and it went to the wire... 45-45 with 10 seconds to go.... he had managed to get a TD from one of my kick offs (damn him) and I had managed to get a good few TD's myself...

but yeah 10 seconds left and I managed to timeout and pass it 60 yeards from my 20 yard line.... then I of course went for a field goal and over it went....

So, my internet connection was down so thought i'd sim some seasons on Madden while watching tele.

How the hell is Level 50 madden gamer achieveable?

I simmed about 10 seasons, and I only gained 2 levels, and I had a perfect season somewhere in there. WTF?!

start simming again and this time choose all 32 teams and them sim (Y)

Because points are gained in big numbers when you PLAY the game.

I got mine today from GAME it is awsome, i was a WR but went to the 49rs.

O and mine was pre-owend.....£45 for a pre-owned game!!!!

Some of the games online are just down right ridiculous. EA servers arent really that impressive.

Quick question for anyone who is around!

I've got a set of audibles under My Madden > Strategy and these seem to work fine offline but they are not being applied online. Can anyone help?
