Agree with fleebs allthough Halo 3 has the same boreing tag attached to it after about 1 week as i just cant get into the multiplayer co-op was ace but very short, i do like Halo it just does not have anything new to offer seen it all before.

Bring on November that is when the new ideas in next gen games arrive

we havent seen seen forge in a detailed scale liek this, especially for an fps liek halo, or saved films, they really are the bomb, the stats on b.net are just awesome. graphics aren't too great, but they are really good for "halo graphics" and the water is just, well, its too good to even talk about. gameplays just basic halo, with added equipment and the turret thing but why fix something that isn't broken? they took Halo 2 and bult on it, becasue they know they have a winning formula.

for me gears of war really didn't do it, i hated the gameplay so it meant i hated the whole game, graphics were good, just a bit too dark and moody could have had a few lollipop sasquatch levels. story is meant to be pretty good. but to be honest, i think you cant compare GoW to H3, they are two VERY different games, and if you want to know what most people think is better, i think maybe the sales statictics can tell you that :p

Depends on what youre going for really. I you like a solid 'standard' shooter with excellent multiplay support, go for halo 3. If you're more for the excellent singleplayer experience that forces you to be a bit more tactical with taking cover and such, and an awesome co-op experience with fair multiplay, go for gears.

I prefer Rainbow Six Vegas for a tactical shooter, with awesome co-op and awesome online. I did enjoy Gears, don't get me wrong, but i wasn't too keen on the multiplayer

I thought the graphics in GoW were absolutely stunning, and I loved the combat in it, it was just way too short and the story felt rushed. It's a shame as the level design in GoW was excellent with nice clear objectives (something I feel the single player game in Halo lacks). However GoW was very, very disappointing online.
Halo has more feathers to it's cap really, the single player game although not as structured, takes more beating and the online stuff is just phenomenal.
Two very different beasts, but I cannot see me trading Halo 3 as quick as I traded GoW

Well, true, the co-op in Vegas was well done. But you can't really follow the storyline in Vegas Co-op campaign because they removed most of the voiceover and in-game cinematics. The gears campaign CAN be enjoyed to the fullest when playing online in co-op.

I have a HD TV, its just that Halo3 runs at 480p, no higher. Check it out on Google. Someone counted the pixels and its not full HD. You can kinda tell too. I think it looks awesome on campaign and on replay videos. I also love the snow effects on snowbound and the sand on sandtrap looks amazing. I cant see it myself, i thought it was in HD, until i saw that story. Ill find the link now and edit my post.

It doesnt bother me at all really. they are both great games that are actually worth £40. I think i prefer Gow coz its not just its predecessor greatly improved, its a whole new type of game.

Nope i think what it is, is that they split the screen, in two, and both have some resolution or some ----, because bungie commented on this in a weekly update.

Runs at 640P mate, which in reality isn't even a resolution.
Which is why doing some research helps as you find things like this:

In regards to this, why does Halo 3 have games you can compare to it? Because Halo: CE was imitated by many.

Gears could be compared to Killswitch, and a lot of other games use cover systems so it's not completely unique.

Well overall i would say

Graphics - GoW
Gameplay - GOW is better - because it is unique (sorry never played killswitch but i've not played any game with similar controls and movement systems)
Single Player - GoW drop-in-drop out campaign is better than Halo3's IMO - but both are too short.
Mulitplayer - Halo3 - pure options options options
Value for Money - well ive had GoW for nearly a year and i still play it (will i be playing Halo3 in a year, maybe not)

The problem for me is that CoD4 and UT3 will win on all these points except for gameplay.

The story on both are good I just think halo's is better because it is more developed as it has spanned over 3 games but lets just wait for gears 2 lol. The combat is better on gow along with the graphics and the settings an the lighting also gives it that extra nudge even tho i hate low lighting on games but this didnt bother me so all in all i think GOW is better.

proberly halo, better feature, better party system and match making, very very cumsomiable, also of people play it. like fps more, what i do like bout gears is once your dead your dead- no respawns- makes a better game imho

yeah its a shame no one bought it mind you the lack of maps on shadowrun is a big let down for me


here we go id have to say gears of war is better as i found it more enjoyable but id rate other games higher than these on the 360 dead rising is my personal favorite

y the ---- didnt they release a map 2 mounths before halo 3.. btw there are still quit alot of people online, find a match is still quick.

All in all the best game on the 360 and on live in my opinion is Rainbow Six Vegas.
