Heard of Kane & Lynch? It's a game about a dysfunctional pair and their travails in the underground crime world. The game's out next month, but publisher Eidos is so confident people are going to enjoy it that it's started work on a sequel already.

Speaking to MCV this week, Jane Cavanagh, the head of Eidos parent SCi, said the company would be spending more to promote the new PC and console action game than they ever did on that nimble explorer, Lara Croft.

"We believe it has the potential to be a franchise for adults that is respected and loved in the same way as Hitman," she said.

That Hitman name-drop is more than a coincidence. Hitman and Kane & Lynch are both the products of Danish game studio IO Interactive. There's a Hitman movie out later this year, starring Timothy Olyphant as the glabrous assassin, and SCi is planning to use the event to push Kane & Lynch too.

As for the sequel, all Cavanaugh would say is that the game is coming and it's more proof of the company belief in the franchise.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men will be out for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 23 November. You can find out more about the game in our recent interview with IO.

Maybe they wanted to carry on with the story? ..lol.

Anyway, other than that... awesome. Its a game I'm looking forward too, because its sort of like Hitman and those games own.
