TV Problem

Ive just bought a new tv its got HD, i got the old cable from my premium console plugged it into the back of my core console.

plugged the cables into the back of the tv, and hey presto, no sound!

wtf? i selected one channel and its a blank picture with sound you can here the blades changing etc... on the other av channel ive got a graet smooth picture but no sound, and i have selected the hdtv switch on the back of the cable

anybody got any idea where i might have gone wrong, i plugged the cables into the right colours on the back of the tv, but it just doesnt work

you've plugged the sound cables into the wrong ports. Are you using the component cable? (red, green, blue for picture and red and white for sound)

yeah im using the component cable, but ive plugged em into the right coloured holes on the back of the tv

heres where they need to be plugged in, sorry about the dodgy angle i couldnt really get round the back of the tv to take a picture

yeah thats right, i was reading the tv instruction manual it told me to put the wires where i was putting them on the diagram i did, so i tried afe different holes and it worked :)
