has anybody been to cancun? whats it like and did you experience any hurricanes?

I have been there, no hurricanes great weapons- but be careful, the area is split into 2 sides, the 'tourisms' side, with shops, towns, trips etc. and just on the other side of the road gun crime is spreeing :D Great time though :D

Yeah I've been and a week after I'd left there was a hurricane (Wilma I think it was called) which destroyed a fair bit of the Hotel Riu Cancun where I stayed. Don't get too near to any lakes either because when a policeman pulled out a gun and aimed it towards me it wasn't nice but I didn't know there was an alligator near.

Not a bad view to wake up to every morning is it? Make sure you take some high factor suncream too because it gets boiling out there.

I've been to 3 places in Mexico and it's a nice place, very very hot in some places. I went there just after a hurricane and it wasn't a pretty site, it was one of the big ones 2-3 years ago. Dead dogs in the road and everything...

One place i can remember the name of is Belize, which if i remember right.. a hurricane is/was on course for that place.
