I recieved Games Master magazine and the Official UK XBOX 360 Magazine in the post within the last 2/3 days.
The articles:
Games Master Article:
Name: Referee 2008
Copyright: James Bosher
What Is It: A next-gen ref sim from JB Sports (it's in the name, apparently). You begin as a young novice who attends referee training courses. It's then down to you to move onto amateur football matches. As you progress through the game you will build up your stats, which will include your stamina, reputation amd vision. This will allow you to keep up with play and see incidents both off and on the ball more clearly. As you progress and your rep increases you will work your way up from Sunday League to the Premier Division and even the World Cup final.
How It Plays: The game will be viewed in first person, allowing you to get up and close and personal with players and managers alike. Your approach to each match is entirely up to you whether you want to be the next Pierluigi Collina or Uriah Rennie is your choice...
Potential Best Bit: Referee 2008 allows you to be harsh or fair as you want. Want to allow two-footed challenges or to send a player off foran accidental foul - it's entirely up to you! But be careful, - if you move up the leagues more people will be watching and the press will rate your performance...
OXM:
Please find my game idea attached. I hope you like the idea and the box art I've designed. "A next-gen ref sim from JB Sports (it's in the name, apparently).
