A brief summary of the games.

Well Wales had a good away win in Bourgas, Bulgaria. It was only a 0-1 win and Freddie Eastwood (45th minute) celebrated his first international cap with a goal but overall a decent performance by John Toshacks men.

England lost 1-2 to Germany thanks mainly in my view to an absolute gaffe by Paul "Calamity" Robinson in goal for England. Germany fielding a much weaker side than I expected and I would have thought England would have been too strong for them. Well thats football for you, always unpredictable. Scorers on the night were Lampard (9) for England and Kuranyi (26) and Pander (40) for Germany.

Northern Ireland cruised to a 3-1 win over Liechtenstein. That man David Healy did it yet again for them bagging a brace. Healy's goals came on (5) & (35) minutes and Lafferty scored on (56) to end any hopes that Liechtenstein had of a decent result. Liechtenstein did however get a consolation goal on (89) minutes with Frick.

Scotland beat South Africa 1-0 at Pittodrie stadium. Kris Boyd with the winner on (71) minutes after coming on as a substitute for Kenny Miller on 68 minutes.

Probably the best result of the night for the home nations though is the performance of the Republic of Ireland. They hammered Denmark 0-4 at Parken stadion. Braces for Robbie Keane (29 & 40) and Shane Long (54 & 66). A comprehensive victory at the end of 90 minutes it must be said.

Pander shoots, scores and leaves. Brilliant from Gary. Probably best bit about the match apart from Wright-Phillips.

I cringed when he said that. Reminded me of that old Panda joke from years ago.

Is Freddie Eastwood not English aswell?

As i've been saying for a while, Robinson is over-rated, and James should be number 1.

McLaren is clueless. Our best player going forward was our right back, Micah Richards, so he puts him to Centre Back for the 2nd half. Clueless.

Owen and Smith - terrible. As predicted. Why wasn't Crouch starting? Why was there no sign of Bent? Why was Dyer anywhere near Wembley?

On the positive, though, Micah Richards. Wow.

Northen Island's where it's at though. God bagged another 2.

We were horrible against South Africa.

But yeah, whilst McLaren is still in charge, most teams are better than England. :D

I felt England out played Germany through most of the first half, but the two up front, Owen and Smith, were very poor. Beckham put in another mediocre performance; if England want to progress as a national side they must drop him.

As far as Paul Robinsons is concerned, I've never been impressed with his ability to judge crosses and anything other than being a shot stopper. England should consider calling up Ben Foster, or Scott Carson; to be honest I don't think, taking the current crop of Keepers England has, that they will have a World Class player in between the sticks. You guys will have to wait until you get your own Jorge Campos.

I also managed to catch Sweden Vs United States, impressive performance by the States despite losing 1-0. However, just like most of the International games that were played, it wasn't a entertaining game. Just a couple of moments of brilliance from the Bosnian-Croatian-Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic (bad --- name).

Yeah he is but I'm glad that he's decided to opt to play for Wales. It was a cracking goal he scored to be fair to the lad.

We're spoilt for choice.

True.

Much more enjoyable than that over-hyped malarky up there.

Ferdinand's a good striker anyway.

I don't see why everyone's so suprised at him scoring it.

He got scouted by West Ham as a youff, playing as a striker.

Mmmm, it's just not the kind of position you expect a centre back to get in though.

Why not?

A tall centre back in the 6 yard box from a corner.

Not exactly rare, is it, Lovejoy?
