OK, I'm not getting red lights so microsoft won't extend my warranty - which is due to run out within a few months. My problem is random crashes in games such as Shadowrun, Gears and Crackdown with the messages all similar to "unable to read disk". There is nothing wrong with the disks as they work the rest of the time, but this means I have to reboot the console every time I get the error - which is now a fairly regular thing. I had this twice before on other consoles which I sent back to Microsoft - whether I've just got a "repair" or a refurbed console I don;t know but seeing as everytime I send one back I just get it back fine for a fe days before it messes up again I have given up on returning to MS.
I've heard of getting a replacement from the supplier using the sale of goods act - mine is a few months over a year old. Firstly: Can anyone link me information on this Act so that I can remember some crap to spout to the manager at woolies and secondly: It's just the console that's faulty and I can;t face losing all my saved games....how would I argue to keep my beloved HDD.....
I bought the premium xbox but all that is faulty is the xbox system....would I be able to take that back alone or would I need to take the entire package back (unfair seing as hours of time have gone into some of the games)
Thanks
Any suggestions much appreciated
