It looks like after all the rumor-mongering and speculation, the bomb is in fact dropping on Xbox 360 Premium hopefuls: the game systems are shipping with HDMI. At least one lucky customer who purchased a Premium system at a Target in Atlanta is currently enjoying the spoils of Microsoft's not-so-secret addition, so hot out of tips and direct to your eyes, we present the first of many you'll be seeing with the much-discussed, built-in HDMI port (and obviously the cooler 65nm chips onboard). You can stop saving and start buying -- as long as your Xbox was built on or around July 4th, a date which will now be remembered for two reasons.

Pretty sweet, makes you wonder what the Elite as to offer you now as the 120gb HDD's will be usable on the Premiums, essentially making them Elites.

Could these also have the 65nm chips? Or is that still coming later this fall?

Hotfish stop stirring ----. They said HDMI wasn't needed. Not "pointless". Now here's a couple of facts for yah:

HDMI didn't have a standard when the 360 was in development. Meaning HMDI wasn't finished so MS couldnt of had HDMI from the start.

2 years ago how many people owned a TV with HDMI? So putting it in could just up the price.

Sony said rumble was last gen. Sony said their console is "true" HD. Sony have said a lot of things from their ---.

But is that a fully functional HDD? The ones I've seen were just for music, vids etc. you couldn't use it for gamesaves and profiles.

I'm guessing now that an update has been released for 120gb drives there's something new they can do to fool it into thinking it's an official drive?

You can run it like a normal 120gig drive for the 360 Elite with gamesaves and profiles etc.

Don't worry, come November I'll be towelling mine so I can get HDMI and the 65nm chip. Suggest you do the same if you want it that bad.

Honestly it doesn't bother me - my TV does 720p max and my PS3's taking up the lone HDMI port anyway. I don't think there's enough difference between component and HDMI for people to be mad at MS for this.

Yep, I was going to swap out my Premium for the Halo console until I heard it wouldn't have the 120GB.

And since I can't be arsed to do the whole trade just for black, I'll buy a 120GB HDD for it sometime instead :)

edit: And the PS3 is the one I'd rather have with HDMI anyway since it's got Blu-Ray

With no demos on mine I have 1.4GB free. That's all the XBLA games [most as trials], all the game content for Oblivion, R6V, content for SCDA and some other games, Halo 2 and a few other Xbox games. Plus some videos and several profiles.

So I do want/need the space.

you could only fill it up with demos. u'd hav 2 be real sad to keep playing a demo after the game is out + you've already completed the demo (with a few exceptions). Excpetions being sport demos + crackdown



Now back to HDMI.

Stop being so retarded people. I don't download game videos. I download OTHER VIDEOS. Have you visited the marketplace in the past 2 years? It has all kinds of wonderful things. I have a Enter Skikari video on there and I keep it because my friends are in the video! I have Borat clips because they are hilarious. I have Incubus's Anna Molly video because it's a great video.
