My Xbox has finally fallen victim to the the three flashing red lights from hell! I called xbox customer support this afternoon after work and arranged to send it away for repair. To be fair the guy that I talked to was great to deal with, very sympathetic and helpful.
Apparently the console can be away for up to 4 weeks (NOOoooooooo!!!!!!) but that concerned me because my :live: subscription is due to run out during this time, so as this fault was not caused by myself I feel that microsoft should at least extend my :live: account for the time it was out of action.
I just wondered if anyone else has already contacted Microsoft about this or has any thoughts on how I should go about it doing this.

My 360 broke just before Christmas, it wasn't until mid January they picked it up... I had lost 1 month of my Live.
My mum asked for it to be extended and they said, no. It wasn't nothing to do with them. So yeah, they will not extend it. ba$tards.

They will extend it if you push it enough, get mad and go off on one. It works everywhere. Also my first Xbox360 i sent off was back within a week, I'm not waiting on my other, it's been about 5 days.

If Microsoft did this for everyone, they'd be giving away £100s a day! This reminds me of a similar incident.
I remember a while back when everyone was playing Halo 2, XBOX LIVE went down for a day. Everyone was asking for a refund of a day but Microsoft were really really clever and put in the terms and conditions something like:
"Any XBOX Live down time will no be refunded (or similar)".

Pico's right, all you have to do is ----- at them and dont stop, and most of the time you'll get what you want. its happened a dozen times with my friends.
They always put a month of live in the box when they send it back nowadays because it takes so Fing long. They put two in mine by mistake.
