Ford Puma, 7 years old but doesn't look it! I was sick of sensible cars, I'm 35 now and wanted to indulge myself :)

Good work, how much did that skin you? £6,000?

Whats the details? 1.6?

Chinster
30/Jul/07, 08:39 PM
I got her for £3,800, just below book price.

She's a 1.7 with 53,000 miles on the clock. Traded in my old Rover 25 so in the end she cost me £2,800.

It goes like poo off a shovel :)

My m8 used to have one before he moved to the USA. Its a decent car, I am 6ft 2 so only front seats for me as the interior was a bit cramped.

My uncle has one for sale a 51plate - in gun metal grey 36k on the clock £4100 - asking way too much in my opinion.

ive just treated myself to a new car - i wanted a diesel and ended up with a petrol 1.8 audi a4 on an 03 plate. its nice mind, silver with black leather

I washed it tonight, then waxed it with green colour magic and then used sealant on top. Never used sealant before, the whole thing seemed like hard work :/

Better last!

Bit girly, innit.

Some folk do say that but I don't see it myself, I think of girly cars being like a Tigra or something like that. Top Gear car of the year in '97 too :)

Hairdresser's car isn't it? Just joking matey!

One of the boys I work with has a Puma but its blue. One of the funniest things you'll see though is him getting out of it (he's about 6ft 6) and as you know they aren't big cars.

Chinster
19/Aug/07, 05:04 PM
How the blazes does he drive a puma when he's 6ft 6 in height? I'm amazed :D

16/Oct/07, 07:16 PM
Hey guys, I fell in love with this puma as it's a millennium edition (only 1000) made and it has leather recarro seats :)

So I bought it LOL

16/Oct/07, 07:21 PM
I like it! How much was it?

Chinster
16/Oct/07, 07:25 PM
No, just one puma, two would be overkill so I traded the old one in :)

It was just over £4,150, but that was with a new cam belt kit fitted (worth £270) and a new clutch fitted (worth another £200 odd).

I thought you might like the colour carocat!

carocat
16/Oct/07, 07:28 PM
I hate yellow, but as far as it goes for a colour for a car it's brilliant. I mean surely everyone's sick of the same old metallic grey and generic blue...

Chinster

You guys like it, that pleases me no end cos other people just say 'It's YELLOW!'.

That's before they see it in the flesh mind ;)

carocat VW's are great cars, I can't really afford one but my GF drives a polo and it's smashing. The brakes are fantastic, when I drive it I end up throwing everyone forward in the car cos I'm not used to it ;)

PE. great choice in the mini cooper! Fantastic cars and really individual, I'm definitely going to get one of those at some point!

Oh dear, not even the turbo!

I'd have a Lambo Murciélago if i could afford anything.

On my current money, when i pay off my car i fancy a Golf GTI or a Fiesta ST. I'll have to see where i am in two years.

Anyway, i like the Puma, Ford are good cars. I like the colour too, i like bright coloured cars, ------- to clean though i bet!

I wouldnt mind anything for my first car aslong as it gets me from A - B. I dont understand why young first time drivers get loans out to get a new flash car when there more likly to have there first crash now that they have just started to drive, wouldnt it be more sensable to get a little run around so you have a bit more practice and get use to driving?

I had a banger for 9 months and all it did was cost me money. The lock broke, it needed new brakes and tyres then the engine seized coz the oil gauge was broke. I would recommend getting a 4-5 year old car, at least it wont break all the time.

True, they stopped making them in 2002 anyway, but it did go on then to win best used car a bit later on.

Anyway, who cares what people think when it's as much fun to drive as in that video! Calling it a hairdressers car doesn't make it any less awesome to drive heheh

Too true, there are lots of faster cars out there. The puma's handling comes into it on twisty roads though, you have an engine that loves to be revved with plenty of torque and a car that sticks to the roads like glue even at fast speeds. The puma can pull off a few surprises on the twisties that might suprise folk in faster cars :)
