My xbox turned itself off and was flasing with the common 3 red rings!

Just happened then when playing forza. Is this happened to everyone when they get the 3 rings or is it new.
Turned it back on for and it was green again.
Is it because of over heating etc

I think it is with overheating, when i got my console back from MS i played it a lot that day. I then got the red lights and turned it off but nothing was damaged... just a warning i think.

i would take it as a precaution. i had the same thing happen, and now mine's on the way to MS. if i were you i would now make sure every precaution is taken to ensure your console's safety.

We had a hell of alot of rain today. (nearly floods). And lightning and thunder
The lights flickered and my bro said the tv went on off. So it may be due to electricity? dunno its a worrying sign all the same.

I had a powercut just before i got the red lights, when i mentioned the above and back then the dashboard froze every 3minutes.

I've had the exact same thing happen to me, also playing Forza, this was about a month+ back, only happened once, no problems since.

i had this happen to me...sent it to MS and it should be getting back any day now...im grounded so i like am completely bored out of my mind :'(

Still lucky to never have a 360 Break!, in fact I have been lucky with all of my consoles in that respect.

My first 360 got the 2 red lights of death, would freeze at the intro movie and display weird graphic distortions. Had it ready in a box to send it back to MS, but then we got broken into and the stupid dicks took the broken 360... KARMA! hehehe

Happily chugging along with my new 360, Gears of War is such a fantastic game. Really getting into it :)

Been playing graw 2 and i hasnt happened since. Hopefully wont again.
