380 PS3 Titles before March 2008

Kaz Hirai, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, has promised a total of 380 titles for release on the PlayStation 3 before next March.

According to a Reuters report, the company boss told the Nikkei business daily that the massive software push was to help boost slow sales of the next-gen console.

Around 200 of the expected titles will be boxed for retail, while a further 180 games are to be made available over the PlayStation Network.

Hirai told Nikkei that the format holder will work closely with third-party software publishers on promoting new titles with in-store marketing and special events.

The latest Japanese hardware sales supplied by Media Create show that the PlayStation 3 sold 8,776 units for the week ended June 10, compared to 64,529 sales of Nintendo's Wii.

About time there was some content on the PS3.

Well not everyone who has a PS3 has a 360 so there will probably be a lot more multi-platform titles in the pipeline I would imagine. The PS3 does need loads of games to be released for it though if it is ever going to take off.

There will be a few good ones, a few great ones, some 360 ports and some crap ones. Most of the PSN titles will most likely be PSone dl games. Thats what I think anyway.

Oh i see yes like i have a japanese and usa account on my ps3, same goes for the 360 i guess, i liked the 360 alot but guess i was unlucky with all three, i enjoyed playing PDZ online good game online.
