Well it all depends on what you are looking for... I mean the Price of the PS3 for what it includes and enables you to do is very good.

It can literally turn into a very High Powered Lost Cost PC if you wish, however with all the extras you have to ask... Whether you'll actually use them.

So do you need Blu-Ray, a Web Browser on your Games Console, Wi-Fi, a Similar App to Second Life. Basically are you going to make use of them and if you think you are then certainly.

Although you might want to check whether the Games you want are on the PS3 or coming to it, as well as if the Movies you want to watch are available on Blu Ray also.

Well yea but it's worth pointing out that it's not likely that the Browser will offer you the complete Web Experience, I would assume it's a basic HTML Browser the likes found on Mobiles.

As for Home and Warhawk both look very good... Our resident Sony PR Guy should be here soon to tell you more about what the PS3 has to offer.

Well, I do think that the web browser is dumbed down a bit, but not to the point mobile level. It can play flash movies (GameSpot movies, for example) and I think supports a couple more. It's not fully functional, but it's better than most.

As for the system itself, I'm not sure if it's completely worth a purchase just yet. I'd wait until the Fall and see how all their exclusive turn out and if they drop the price before you make the jump. I'm sure they're have some nice AA-AAA titles, but it's still a big jump to buy a PSTriple. :P

Really if you've got a 360 [I'm not sure if you meant it's out of warranty or it's just off to be fixed] and you want an internet browser, I'd get a Wii. It's an Opera browser that works pretty well, you can watch Youtube videos and the like, and it's a bit easier to control since you use the remote than it would be with the SixAxis.

On top of that you get a totally different gaming experience to the 360, all for $250. It doesn't have Blu-Ray, but do you really need it?

I don't have a PS3, so my opinion's not totally valid, but I just don't see anything that makes it worth buying for $600 if you've already got a 360.

I haven't used the updated Wii browser yet, but I wasn't overly impressed with the first version. It was pretty slow. Did that change when they made the switchover?

As for the Wii, if the fact that I haven't got the updated version of the browser is any indication, I haven't really played a lot of the Wii. Wii Sports is definitely a cool title and makes me believe in the potential of the Wii, but right now, the software offerings are worst than the PS3. You've got Super Paper Mario, Twilight Princess and mini-games.

There is also the lack of Online Support for Games, I think ONE has just launched recently.

Yes..but not yet unless you like VF5 and a couple of others. Wait till late summer when the ps3 should have Lair and Heavenly Sword to name but a few - then you can smile at 360 owners.

Me i opted for a Wii as my other console rather than buying what would be my 7th 360..though that may change soon as i have been offered another 360 instead of my mate stumping up the cash for my old plasma...but at the moment cash appeals more

The ps3 is a great machine - theres just noting to showcase it off as much as say the 360 but it will wipe the floor with it in say a year when it will as Art said have its AA-AAA titles. The game which will make or break the ps3 sales for chrimbo will be GTA IV - then we will see just which is the better machine

The ps3 is bursting with features the 360 hasn't got and vice versa - if you are a keen oline gamer then you may be disapointed - that's not to say the PSN is bad its just not as good as live but its free so meh.

PS2 games and psone can be played at 1080i as can your old dvd's - Jenna Jameson never looked so good:D

Verdict get one - not yet - say 2-3 months

yep but as you said you never played it!..the ps3 is a better machine just theres not many games that appeal to most people..me hell yes VF5 all the way..is it worth just that no, but im playing GTA 3 and it looks great in 1080!...there's alot of better ps2 games out there then 360 games

I had 4 Xbox 360's that bricked. I literally prayed everytime I turned my console on. Luckily I was able to exchange the 360 for a PS3. I'm not going to bash the 360. Many people are aware of the overheating\freezing\disc scratching issues already.

I've owned my PS3 since January 5th. It has been solid and reliable. The cooling fan inside the PS3 is actually bigger than a CD. Obviously it's very efficient. isuppli did a teardown of the PS3 and had high praise for the console.

You can also use USB or Bluetooth headsets, mice, keyboards, camera's with the PS3. Your not stuck with buying propietary add on's like with other consoles. You can even swap out the 60GB HDD and add a larger one quite easily.

This summer there will be a lot of great games coming out for the PS3. Like any new console it takes time to build up a library.

When Sony says they have a 10 year plan for the PS3, I believe them. The PS2 is still being supported long after MS abandoned Xbox and Xbox came out a year after PS2.

The PS3 motherboard alone is $500. Sony put the best of the best into the PS3. The console has a great future.

There is no reason to buy a PS3 yet due to the fact of the lack of games currently and the fact that many people just simply can't afford one due to its hefty price tag.

I've been quite surprised by the PS3 in many ways with its nifty little touches here and there but every console has its plus and minus points.

Some pluses

The sixaxis's battery life lasts for ages compared to the 360's controller. I think that the Playstation Store is set out better than what Xbox Live Marketplace is. Its a lot quieter machine than the 360 thats for sure. It upscales my PS2/Dvds for a better image on my HDtv. I can connect to the internet wirelessly because it has wi-fi built in (so no need to buy a wireless adapter). I can use other products with it and not just officially licensed ones (not on about controllers and the like I mean data/usb sticks, memory cards, etc.). All of my old PS2/PS1 games work with it so far that I've tested.

Minuses

The controller charge lead isn't that long. The HDMI cable isn't included as standard. Not many games available for it currently. Its a bloody dust magnet :D.

Personally i think its well worth it and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise, the days of exclusives are well almost over, i have had three xbox 360s breakdown the last one that went bang went straight in the bin and you only get a years warranty.
On ps3 network never lost connection once and the people who play online are really friendly and are all europeans, like the rest of the guys said it has all the whistles and strings, one prob though theres not enough games out, thats the only prob, wait until christmas for a price drop and more games.
