Which console was The Darkness developed on?

I would like to no which console The Darkness was developed on(PS3 or 360, i have both), because i carn't choose which console to buy the darkness on. They will prob look the same, i like the 360 controler the best, and i know the PS3 will fit more films on, because of Blue Ray. So the desider will have to be which does it run the best on. I thought it was developed on the PS3 but they show most gameplay on the 360. So does any 1 know which console it was developed on? because it should run the best on that 1. Or how you desided. I must admit I'm not a game developer, shock horror, but I doubt it was as simply as making it on one then porting it to the other. I don't think that's how it works.

If I'm not mistaken the code is normally written in one Language such as C++ or C# and then they use APIs in order to communicate with the Console itself.

So I think games are often made independent of the platform itself, now that is more than likely false for Exclusive titles as there would be no need for that but I assume that what enables you to program for numerous platforms.

Also buying a Console based on one game is very short sighted, because believe it or not you will eventually get bored of that game.

Normally studios have a lead platform, recently this has been the 360. They then port the code to the other OS.

I am not sure about `The Darkness' but I would expect it to lead on the 360.

If it's on PC as well, I would guess 360. I'm not sure if it is though.

Sounds good big D, i did,nt think it was as simply as porting my self. Lead platform was the word i was looking for like bingo says. Sorry i did,nt make my self clear (i have edited my question now), but i all ready own 360 and PS3 (I'm typing this on my PS3). I wanted to no which console to get The Darkness on.
