Predictions for GAME OF 2006

TBH honest I cant see anything comparing to

If Halo 3 comes out this year, but I doubt it. I think its too early to make a prediction for game of the year but for the sake of this thread I will say Mass Effect but if it doesnt come out this year then Gears of War.

Although I want Halo 3, PES6 and probably some other Revolution, DS and 360 games, this is going to be the best game of the year, by a long, long way.

I believe it will be the new Ghost Recon that is coming out next month. I heard it is going to be absolutly phenominal, and most of the previews and demos have proven that. Ghost Recon ports have been a great success on the Xbox and I think that will continue on the Xbox 360.

Ghost Recon will be good, but do you really expect it to be better than Halo 3 and Zelda: TP?

Halo 3 will most likely not be coming out this year. And yes I do. Zelda: TP will not be the next Zelda: Ocarina of Time or the Majora's Mask. There isn't enough levels shown and it seems to be a much shorter game, like Majora's mask. No game will ever match up to Ocarina of Time. You can say Halo, another games, whatever nothing was ever so intriguing, so hard, so amazing and so friggin' long that it feels like you were immersed in an actual world. And this was on a 1st generation console!

I believe Zelda fans (Before The Wind Waker I was one) will be satisified alot but most of us will be wanting the same OoT experience which Im sorry to say we will never get again.

Halo 3 if it comes out this year will most likely be up there for Game of the Year but half of the reason why Halo 2 was up there for Game of the Year 2004, was mainly because of how much hype there was to it. It was in my opinion the greatest First Person Shooter of all time but still not better than OoT. Twlight Princess will give us a great experience we have been longing for the past 6 years to have again.

Plus those two are still up for debate on whether or not they are coming out in 2006 as well.

Operation Flashpoint: Armed Assault is in with a damn good shout, sequel to the greatest military sim ever.

Wouldn't write off Aftermath either, I'm expecting the usual quality stuff from Valve.

I don't know, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter is looking amazing. Kind of like Call of Duty in 2003, it can be shocker out of nowhere which I strongly expect because this game is looking quite amazing.

bad news about aftermath they are releasing ti in parts and they have changed the name to half life 2:part one so its going to be like april 24th when the 1st part comes out.

Since this thread has been refreshed I will say again ZELDA TT. This will be phenomanal. Maybe GR3 but its Zelda for me.

I will say oblivion & Medieval total war to win most awards.
Oblivion will probably outshine Zelda in the RPG catagory, although I am a fan of the Zelda series.

If its released this year then I am predicting that Halo 3 will be the dogs danglies.

Hopefully this time round we will get a better balance between Single and Multiplayer action. Halo 2 seemed too based on multiplayer for my liking.

Halo3 will be out, now that sony gave PS3 a date its time to MS start to move too!
But is going to be tuff for all games!

Yeah, Halo 3 should be great.

I've got a feeling they're going to rush it to try and compete with Sony, which could result in it having a few minor flaws I'd rather it didn't have.

Hopefully when they release it, they'll do so when it's properly ready. If they do, then it'll most likely be my game of the year as well.

The reason for Halo 2 not living up to most people's expectations was because MS had been rushing Bungie, now MS has given Bungie full control over their next project so hopefully they should hit us with another stunner like Halo 1.

I do think that Halo 3 as good hopes of being GOTY, but with many other fantastic games coming out, it's hard to tell at the moment, but I also think that Oblivion as got a good chance, as it's been in production for a very long time now so it should be an amazing experience.

Just remember, Halo 3 wont get the publicity if it launches on par with the PS3 launch. It would be overshadowed by it, and posssibly ruin the Halo franchise. Best bet, wait til everyone gets over the PS3 launch and drop the bomb right after E3 2007.
