Motorstorm voice chat - no go??

Hi all, I'm sorry if this has been answered already but, does anyone else have problems with voicechat in Motorstorm?
My mate and I have to resort to using our 360's to chat to each other whilst playing.
We can chat happily from the chat option in the XMB. In the game we get nothing at all. Both of us have tried bluetooth and PS2 usb headsets.

Any thought's tips please?

I've been able to talk with other people in the lobby and game without problems...or do you mean a private chat with just you and your friend?

I've been hit or miss. One friend that I've played with, I've had no problems with the voice chat. Another friend...I can't even get it to work.

Hi, no I mean at all, I 'used' to have it working when I had a US copy of the game (I have a US PS3) but my mates kit was all UK and we couldn't play together so I bought a UK copy as well and there's nothing at all on it. I seem to remember seeing a flashing icon in the brown smudges up in the top left corner (sorry I don't know how else to describe it), and I still get that on mine but he can't hear me and I can't hear him. Yet like I said we can exit the game and chat perfectly well from the XMB chat application. Thanks for the replies.

I guess it has to be a NAT issue...it says in the XMB it can cause issues with Chat. It may work in the XMB but have issues once running in-game...check what NAT type you and your mate are currently on.

Both show as NAT type 2 (we are both using routers and ethernet) and I've configured both machines as static ip and set up the routers dmz to match so there shouldn't be any NAT problems, but I get your point!
Also I've manually port forwarded ports 3658 and 4658 on UDP to the same IP address.
Oh and well done to the Rams (if you support Derby that is, I'm about 12 miles away!)

Well I think you've done all you can, just have to put it down to a glitch.

Yeah I am a Derby supporter though never get to go to any games....I did have some text about the Rams at Wembley in my sig but it was more important to replace with R1pley is a nonce (long story).
