You’ve had a look at the Xbox ONE games coming out in the next few months [if not, link here], now let’s look at the PlayStation 4 games that will be hitting the shop shelves, and from Sony’s point of view, hopefully the games that will sway people like me who haven’t purchased either console yet.
Please note that these are scheduled UK release dates and as always, are subject to change.
ASSASSIN’S CREED: FREEDOM CRY [STANDALONE EDITION] – 19th February 2014
I wasn’t sure whether or not to put this in my list, however I thought why not. It looks good, I don’t have Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and if I was to pick up a PS4, i’d have this on my watch list. This original DLC add on now comes on it’s own and you won’t find it on Xbox ONE as a standalone version. The trailer alone is pretty epic and makes me want to pick it up. Take a look.
INFAMOUS: SECOND SON – 21st March 2014
The third addition to the series is set seven years after Infamous 2. Based in Seattle players take control of a 25 year old graffiti artist named Delsin Rowe. Delsin is going nowhere in life until he one day comes into contact with a Conduit, which ultimately triggers his own hidden Conduit abilities, and the story continues from there. Just take a look at the trailer for this open world adventure and enjoy.
METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES – 21st March 2014
I have this game on my Xbox ONE list but I could not put this on the PS4 list as well. This game just looks great and it could be the game the tells me it’s time to pick up a next-generation console now. Sometimes words just aren’t enough, and in that case, it’s best to just sit back and enjoy a YouTube clip.
THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE – June 2014
Again this was on the Xbox ONE list, but if I do opt for the PS4, this is a game that has to be on my wish list. The Elder Scrolls Online looks visually stunning and with the inclusion of online [online is almost a necessity these days] it is sure to be one of the biggest games released this year. It’s also likely to give me a lot of gameplay meaning I’ll be getting my money’s worth.
WATCH_DOGS – At some point
No release date has been given yet for Ubisoft’s Watch_Dogs, however this is sure to be THE game of the year if it lives up to it’s hype. It’s like Grand Theft Auto but offers a different style of gameplay where users are able to alter the surroundings and interact with almost everyone in the game. If you haven’t already seen this gameplay, first of all, why not? Secondly, even if you’ve already seen it, watch it again.
So that’s it for now. Anything in particular take your fancy? Let us know in the comments below.
